Application of kansei engineering and dematel to priori tize service quality for public hospital in Thailand
Application of kansei engineering and dematel to priori tize service quality for public hospital in Thailand

The health care industry is one of the rapid growth industries in Thailand. Thai government has promoted and set a strategic policy to by “Medical Hub of Asia”since 2004. Therefore the chief executive officers of many hospitals have determined strategies to improve their service quality because of the global competition. Service competition. Service quality which refers to customer perceptions of the service process has been considered. Sansei Engineering can be the best tool for translating customer perceptions and emotions to the psychical desire attributes. This study conducted sansei engineering and service quality to analyze the relationships between service quality and customer’s emotion and feeling. The decision making trial and evaluation laboratory (DEMATEL) was employed to constructs the cause-effect relationship of criteria of the model that can be described complexity of causal relationships. The results show that tangible and empathy are the key factors that should be considered as the first priority for improving by public hospitals directors. Fuel consumption monitoring system using control signal and characteristic correlations of fuel injector
Fuel consumption monitoring system using control signal and characteristic correlations of fuel injector

Objectives of this study are (i) to investigate characteristics of a fuel injector and to establish the characteristic correlation for correcting the fuel injection rate calculated from the control signal of a fuel injector and (ii) to design and fabricate the fuel consumption monitoring system by measuring the control signal of fuel injector in conjunction with considering the obtained characteristic correlation to enhance accuracy of the measured fuel consumption rate. The characteristics of a fuel injector (maximum fuel injection rate of 270 cm3/min) e.g. engine speeds percentages of injector’s duty cycle and pressure differences between fuel rail and intake manifold were experimentally investigated on a test set in the laboratory. The study found that when the engine speed increased the fuel injection rate increased. When the percentages of infector’s duty cycle increased the increasing ratio was less than the one-to-one increasing ratio as a case of the ideal. Moreover when the pressure difference increased the fuel injection rate increased. After that the fuel consumption monitoring system was designed and fabricated based on the Arduino Mega 2560 microcontroller. Trip distance was measured by a GPS module. The real-time fuel consumption rate could be shown on a LCD display. All recorded data were stored onto a SD card for further data analysis. Finally the on-road-test validation was conducted by on the 2011 Mitsubishi Triton installed with the 4-cylinder gasoline engine with total displacement of 2351 cm3. It was found from that the average discrepancy of the measured fuel volume was ± 1.88% compared to the actual fuel volume obtained by measuring a decreasing volume of consumed fuel.

Experimental investigation of a thermosyphon economizer to recover waste heat in the electronics industry
Experimental investigation of a thermosyphon economizer to recover waste heat in the electronics industry

A case study was conducted to design construct and test a thermosiphon economizer for increasing the temperature of feed water by using waste hot water. The simulation of the thermosiphon economizer (heat exchanger) for the establishment of the optimum size was performed using the thermos-economical method. The thermosyphon was made of a total of 80 copper tubes (outside diam.19.05 mm) with evaporative adiabatic and condensation lengths of 300 10 and 300 mm respectively. The working fluid was R-134a filling ratio was 50% by evaporative volume and the thermosiphon was arranged in a staggered form. In testing performance flow rate of the inlet hot water was set at 10 L/min and the controlled inlet temperature of cold water at 25oC. The average flow rate of the cold water was set at 5 7 and 10 L/min respectively. Results showed that the maximum of rate of heat transfer from the condenser section occurred at the flow rate of the cold water of 10 L/min. When test the inlet temperature of hot water of 4555 and 65 o C were used at the inlet volume flow rate of cold water of 10 L/min maximum heat transfer rates from the condenser 4626 8260 and 8790 W were achieved. Moreover the outlet temperature of the cold water which was initially 25o C changed to 311 34 and 37o C respectively. Therefore increasing the outlet feed water temperature reduced energy consumption. The effectiveness of the thermosiphon economizer with the inlet temperatures of hot water of 45 55 and 65o C was 0.47 0.48 and 0.49 respectively.

Effectiveness investigation of evaporative cooling using radiator for pre-cooling system
Effectiveness investigation of evaporative cooling using radiator for pre-cooling system

Due to the systems of mechanical vapor compression have a high energy consumption for air-conditioned space. Therefore the system of evaporative cooling presents as a promising alternative option for the air-conditioning system. Moreover the pre-cooling system is normally used to reduce an intake ambient air temperature before the air-conditioning system. As mentioned above this research aims to investigate the effectiveness of evaporative cooling system by using a car radiator for air per-cooling. In this research the commercial car radiator was used for cooling inlet ambient air by cooling water. The evaporative cooling system consisted of evaporative cooling panel with a maximum water rate of 40 lite/minute and a maximum air rate of 5100 m3/hr. The results show that most suitable water flow rate of radiator is 10 lite/minute and this radiator can make the differences of air temperature of about 8.9oC. Moreover the results also show that the effectiveness of evaporative cooling system could reach about 73.31% with a maximum sensible heat of 8.43 kW.

การใช้ประโยชน์จากน้ำแช่เมล็ดถั่วดำแห้งในกระบวนการย้อมสีสิ่งทอ

The purpose of this research was to investigate the use of soaked black bean water and to add value to it otherwise it is considered as colored waste water. The soaked black bean water was analyzed for phytochemicals and dyeing process was carried out silk cotton and polyester fibers. Dried black beans were soaked in water ratio 1:1 for at least 12 hours. The dyeing process involved soaking the fiber in soaked black bean water at 100o for 30 min. to determine the type of fiber staining and color fastness. Results showed presence of Anthocyanin Anthraquinonoid Terpenoid Saponin Tannin and Flavonoids in soaked black bean water. It was found that dye could be absorbed by silk fabric in an acidic condition. The shade appeared red-brown at L*44.17 a*16.88 and b*20.13 color strength was 6.19 and ultraviolet protection was blocked more than 97.5 percentages as UPF 50+. Moreover the color fastness grading in crocking property was very good to excellent (CF 4-5) good washing fastness (WF4) and moderate fastness in the presence of light (LF 4). In conclusion soaked black bean water can be used for dyeing for silk fabric and enhance UV protection.
