A study of crash box parameters referred to energy absorption
A study of crash box parameters referred to energy absorption

Nowadays an automotive industry steadily has been growing and playing a major role on economy development for many years. The crash box is one of the most important parts for safety but it was found that the crash boxes manufactured domestically are not met international standard requirements. This is due to process and material limitation. This process for automotive safety test requires high budget and there is unclear approach for specific test. Therefore a study of crash boxes referred to energy absorption project was conducted as an alternative choice of testing. Regarding to the problems as addressed above this project was aimed to design and test crash boxes which come in various structures; simple type corrugated type and honeycomb type of crash box. In addition it was also emphasized in studying energy absorption behavior and physical deformation of crash boxes after dynamic and static energy being applied. Numeric simulation and static test methodology of front collision were applied for these tests in reference to USA NCAP standard for automobile collision test. Testing all types of crash boxes indicated that the corrugated type was able to absorb energy at 2.8% and 5.9% higher than honeycomb type and rectangular type respectively. This is capable to pick up stress and strain continually and effecting to more energy absorb than another type. Additionally this corrugated structure is feasible and suitable for crash box design in automotive manufacturing.

Biomass potential of 56 accessions of leucaena as animal and biofuel feedstocks
Biomass potential of 56 accessions of leucaena as animal and biofuel feedstocks

Biomass yield between 56 accessions of leucaena were observed at Suwanvajokkasikit Field Crops Research Station Nakhonratchasima province. Randomized block design was used with 3 replications and 56 accessions as treatments. Leucaena was harvested at 2 years of age. Plant length wood yield branch yield and leaf yield were collected. Averaged plant length was in range of 6.84-11.87 meters with KU19 was highest in length. Five accessions that produced more wood yield were KU15 KU38 KU1 KU19 and KU10. Yield of these accessions were 24.07 21.96 16.71 15.36 and 14.95 t/rai with ash content at 1.43 1.04 1.76 3.66 and 1.34 percent respectively while native leucaena (KU20) had the lowest yield (0.91 t/rai). Branch yield among the accessions; KU1 KU10 KU38 KU 15 and KU19 had the greatest branch yield averaged 3.04 2.76 1.62 1.42 and 1.38 t/rai respectively. While top five in leaf yields were in KU15 KU56 KU45 KU39 and KU19 at 1.12 1.11 0.88 0.87 and 0.86 t/rai respectively.

Detection of the transparency of air dried sheet rubber using solar cell module
Detection of the transparency of air dried sheet rubber using solar cell module

The purposes of the research were; 1) to develop the detection of the transparency of air dried rubber sheet (ADS) using solar cell module 2) to find the average voltage according to the standard ADS grade market level and 3) to construct predictive equation of output voltage of the transparency machine. Samples of this study obtained by a purposive sampling technique was the standard ADS of 652 sheets. The instruments consisted of a multi-meter and transparency machine. For statistical analysis t-test (independent samples) and f-test (one-way ANOVA) were employed. The findings revealed that: 1) The ADS transparency machine consists of solar cell module at the error of 6% 2) The average voltage according to the standard ADS classify market level of 1 2 3 and 4 are 3.41 2.80 2.49 and 1.91 V. respectively 3) The market level and thickness of ADS altogether were the variables that could predict the output voltage of the transparency machine at 86.5 %

Electrical conservation and development of energy management system for public building
Electrical conservation and development of energy management system for public building

This research was a study of energy management in public building. The goals of this project are to decrease energy consumption and to enhance energy management system of the building. Regarding the energy survey the building lights are turned on for 24 hr. per day in order to satisfactorily serve the customers. In the study it was found that the energy consumption of electric light on the fourth floor roof can be reduced by changing the light “Floodlight MH. 4x250W” to be “High bay LED 4x150W” For the merit this project can save the energy around 6632570 baht per year and switching towards high-efficiency lanterns and replacing FL. T8 light bulbs installed in the walkways with FL. T5 models. This reduces lighting cost by 361425 baht per year. Moreover the energy management system was analyzed by using SWOT Analysis. As a result we observed the barriers to communication must be overcome to promote energy conservation. One approach is to increase the performance through the use of communication strategies within organizations. This method will help align employees understanding and participating in activities of conserve energy.

Efficiency of reducing mixing energy and mechanical properties of rubber vulcanizatesfrom natural rubber with silica masterbatch
Efficiency of reducing mixing energy and mechanical properties of rubber vulcanizatesfrom natural rubber with silica masterbatch

The natural rubber with silica masterbatch was produced and used as based material in rubber compound modified from standard tread formulation given in ASTM E 1136. The reduction of mixing energy and rubber vulcanizate properties were investigated. Results indicate that in comparison with STR 5L compound the rubber with silica masterbatch i.e. fresh latex (FNRmSi) low viscosity natural rubber used 1.0 phr of hydrogen peroxide (LNR1mSi) and low viscosity natural rubber used 0.34 phr of hydrogen peroxide and 2.7 phr of potassium persulphate mixture (LNR2mSi) provides maximum mixing energy saving of 30.48% 33.37% and 37.20% respectively. The scorch time and cure time rise with increasing filler loading. The mechanical properties of LNR1mSi and LNR2mSi are similar to those STR5L compound whereas FNRmSi vulcanizate shows superior mechanical properties such as 300% modulus tear resistance abrasion resistance elongation at break and tensile strength. The homogenous distribution and interfacial interaction of silica filler and natural rubber matrix were enhanced by the self-assembled silica masterbatch as shown by the fracture surfaces morphology of the vulcanizate using a Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). The silica masterbatch form has reduced the mixing power consumption and enhanced the mechanical properties.
