This research aims to study the using oil palm fiber to develop ceiling board product. The mixture ratios of Gypsum plaster: oil palm fiber: tap water: catalyst are 1 : 0.15 : 1: 0.03 1 : 0.20 : 1: 0.03 1 : 0.25 : 1: 0.03 1 : 0.30: 1: 0.03 and 1 : 0.35 : 1: 0.03 by weight. The ceiling board samples are cast in 30 x 30 x 1 centimeter in dimension. The ceiling board sample testing follows the TIS 219-2552. The results show that the longitudinal and lateral breaking load Nail pull resistance density and thermal conductivity of ceiling board with high quantity of oil palm fiber are lower than ceiling board with low quantity of oil palm fiber while that the deflection and water absorption of ceiling board with high quantity of oil palm fiber are higher. However all of oil palm fiber samples with lower than 0.2 of ratio can pass the standard.
This research aims to study the using oil palm fiber to develop cement-bonded fiberboard product. The mixture ratios of Portland cement type1: fine sand: oil palm fiber:tap water: catalyst are 1 : 1.95 : 0.05 : 0.40 : 0.03 1 : 1.94 : 0.06 : 0.40 : 0.03 1 : 1.93 : 0.07 : 0.40 : 0.03 1 : 1.92 : 0.08 : 0.40 : 0.03 and 1 : 1.91 : 0.09 : 0.40 : 0.03 by weight. The cement-bonded fiberboard samples are cast in 30 x 30 x 1.5 centimeter in dimension. The cement-bonded fiberboard sample testing follows the TIS 878-2537. The results show that the density thermal conductivity bending strength modulus of elasticity and tension perpendicular to surface of cement-bonded fiberboard with high quantity of oil palm fiber are lower than cement-bonded fiberboard with low quantity of oil palm fiber while that the water absorption and swelling in water of cement-bonded fiberboard with high quantity of oil palm fiber are higher. However all of oil palm fiber samples with lower than 0.06 of ratio can pass the standard.
This research aims to study the using basalt rock fragments to develop as interlocking block product. The mixture ratios of Portland cement type1: basalt rock fragments are 11 : 6 1 : 6.5 1 : 7 1 : 7.5 and 1 : 8 by weight and water per cement ratio was 0.6 by weight. The interlocking block samples are cast in 10 x 20 x 10 cubic centimeter of dimension with manual compression molding machine. The interlocking block samples were tested in accordance with TCPS 602-2547 standard which subjected for the interlocking block. The results show that the weight compressive strength and thermal conductivity of interlocking blocks with high quantity of basalt rock fragments are lower than interlocking blocks with low quantity of basalt rock fragments while that the water absorption of interlocking blocks with high quantity of basalt rock fragments are higher. From this research the medium and small enterprises could choose the proper ration for the interlocking block production mixing basalt rock fragments as per requirement.
This research aims to develop the natural-rubber floor tiles mixed with high fineness ethylene vinyl acetate plastic wastes (EVA plastics) from the factories. The study use natural-rubber STR 20 at 100 phr with various contents of EVA plastics (e.g. 0 5 10 20 40 and 80 phr) and then mixed with chemical substance at constant ratio include zinc oxide at 5 phr stearic acid at 2 phr mercaptobenzothiazole at 0.5 phr diphenyl guanidine at 0.2 phr and sulfur at 3 phr. The samples are ground by two-roll mill and formed by compression molding at 150 degree Celsius with 30x30x0.2 cm of dimension. The properties of the natural-rubber floor tiles are tested under ASTM standard. From the results it is found that the natural-rubber floor tiles mixed with 10 phr of EVA plastics is the suitable ratio for using as the rubber floor tiles in building. This ratio can increase the hardness tensile strength and wear resistant properties and decrease the density and thermal insulation properties when compare to the natural-rubber floor tiles without EVA plastic.
The aims of this study were to select (1) a basic recipe of tapioca crackers (2) the appropriate concentration of Khlu leaf extract for fortification in the tapioca cracker product (3) the suitable seasoning powder for tapioca cracker fortified with Khlu leaf extract and finally (4) to study of physical chemical nutritional qualities as well as (5) consumers acceptance in the seasoned tapioca cracker fortified with Khlu leaf extract. The results showed that a basic recipe for tapioca cracker making was 57% tapioca flour 4% sugar 2% finely chopped garlic 2% salt 1% pepper and 34% boiling water as considered from sensory evaluation. The appropriate concentration of Khlu leaf extract was the mixture of water and fresh sliced Khlu leaves at a ratio of 1: 0.5. This ratio was given a preference score greater than 1:1 and 1:1.5 (p?0.05). After that three seasoning powders were added to the crackers fortified with Khlu leaf extract. It was found that the Tom yum seasoning powder tended to be obtain the highest sensory scores than those of the samples seasoned with paprika and algae seasoning powder (p?0.05). The final formulation of the seasoned tapioca crackers fortified with Khlu leaf extract contained fat protein dietary fiber and carbohydrate contents approximately 40.50% 1.49% 2.01% and 51.10% respectively. According to the consumer test (100 consumers) the seasoned tapioca cracker fortified with Khlu leaf extract was accepted as the novel and delicious product. Moreover 92% of consumers decided to buy the product containing 60 g in the plastic bag with the price of 30 Baht.
