Study on effectiveness of aquatic plants for wastewater treatment
The objective of this research was to compare the effectiveness of water hyacinth and cootail for wastewater treatment by taking water sample from Klong Bangkhen-mai near King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok. The results showed that there was no diifference on water temperature changes in tanks between two plants. pH of water in coontail tanks was between pH 8.69 to pH 8.91 and pH of water in water hyacinth tanks was slightly increasing between pH 7.71 to pH 8.26. The more amount of coontail added the higher DO would be between 9.18 mg/L to 10.02 mg/L. Moreover COD of water was decreasing according to the amount of cootail addition and more effective than that in water hyacinth tank especially in 150 grams coontail tanks but TS in water hyacinth tanks was much more decreasing than that in coontail tanks. TS was between 21.73 mg/L to 25.91 mg/L. COD was between 45.30 mg/L to 48.34 mg/L.
Management of waste from the laboratory faculty of pharmacy mahidol university
The purpose of this research was to develope the laboratory waste management and provide this knowledge to the students and the research assistants of Faculty of Pharmacy Mahidol University by using the methodology of participatory action research (PAR). This project was performed by training course and releasing the method of waste management by different medias. After the training the 80 participants have been assessed the knowledge using the Scoring Rubrics as a criterion for the evaluation. The result showed that the participants understood about the wastes storage systems the wastes categories the wastes labelling types the wastes containers drop points of wastes the useful of waste storaging the officers who responsible for the storage of waste in the laboratory in the percentage of 97 94 87 97 97 100 and 98 respectively which all passed the specified criteria. The summary of comments and suggestions were that the containers to collect the waste were not enough due to there were many varieties of solvents. This research enables the users to know how to dispose the wastes by differentiating the chemicals types and perform accurately which leading to the reduction of the amount of hazardous waste reduction the unknown waste the waste management from the laboratory become more systematic which will reduce the budgets and decreasing the risk to the health.
Ability to support and waste management in the tourist district of phu fa nan
The purpose of this research was to study ability to support and waste management in the tourist district of Phu Fa Nan for planning problems of environmental pollution solid waste according to the principle. To support the growth of tourism in the future with a focus on public sector participation in solid waste disposal. And studies to find solutions to waste management. The study was a Participatory Action Research (PAR). The population of study were Participants in the community. The collected data by focus group observation and interview. The result was the conditions for success of waste management (1) the participation of community leaders schools hospitals health promotion community health volunteer. Forest officials. Organization be coordinated to work together (2) the plan common to all sectors of the community and networking. Both public and private to recognize the importance of waste management in all sectors and reduce waste by separating waste before disposal and the recycling.
The biogas production from waste in school and the application of lunch project for student case study suksasongkhro tak school tak province
This research aimed to transfer technology about biogas digester construction and applying the biogas in household to teachers and students in Suksasongkhro Tak school. They were instructed and trained about biogas digester construction and applying the biogas produced from animal manure on cooking in household to reduce using LPG. The research operations were separated to 4 phases. The first was preparation and making understanding. The second was instruction and practical training. The third was monitoring and project evaluation. The last one was organizing the science project event. The number of participant teachers and students was 330. From the result of 5 scale questionnaire in project evaluation it was found that the evaluation about knowledge and understanding showed the maximum scale ( = 4.42 SD = 0.84). The second was about location duration and food ( = 4.36 SD = 0.75). The evaluation about the knowledge showed the lowest scale ( = 4.28 SD = 0.77). For the project evaluation of success it was found that every biogas digester done by participants could produce the biogas and it could be use to replace LPG and reduce expenditure about 1400 – 1500 baht/month. The total construction cost of biogas production system was 58000 baht. So the payback period was 3.22 years.
นวัตกรรมคอนกรีตต้นทุนต่ำไหลเข้าแบบง่ายโดยการใช้เถ้าทิ่้ง
This research presents a study of the compressive strength porosity chloride penetration resistance to carbonation and corrosion of self-compacting concrete containing fly ash ground rice husk-bark ash and ground bottom ash. Portland cement (CT) is partially replaced with pozzolans 0-40% by weight of the cementitious materials. Fly ash ground rice husk-bark ash and ground bottom ash have a high potential to be used as a good cementitious material. The results show that the compressive strength and low porosity of self-compacting concrete improves substantially with partial replacement of Portland cement with fly ash. Self-compacting concrete mix cement containing 20-40% of pozzolans can be used to make cementitious materials. The use of fly ash ground rice husk-bark ash and ground bottom ash produces concrete mix with good strength and resistance to chloride and corrosion.
