Process and form of reed mat for development of thai contemporary art furniture design
The study of Reed mat making process and develop the design into a Thai contemporary furniture style. This research is an experimental type and the research designs various functioned furniture. The inspiration come the shape of petal of lotus blossom. The lotus blossom petal’s shape has been one of a characteristic of Thai painting for a longtime. Artists from the old day got this inspiration from nature and the curve and the soft outline of pattern represents the warmth and kindness of Thai people. Therefore the soft outline is the beginning of this design which comes in 3 types. Each type has its own functions but share a lotus blossom petal as an inspiration. First type is the couch second is the arm chair and last is an end table. From a questionnaire about the function of the reed mat the statistic shows the average number on the couch is 4.39 and that is good. The couch is the best choice to be developed into reed mat material furniture due to the strongest structure and heavy load capability. The reed mat already is a mat to lie on; just shaping it into a curve according to Ergonomics theory and it will become a very comfortable couch. This is one way to improve the function in Thai contemporary furniture. Because of the satisfaction average number is at 4.57 which are the highest score; the couch is the best candidate to be applied into more contemporary furniture with Thai art character
การพัฒนาผืนผ้าด้วยเส้นด้ายพิเศษจากเศษวัสดุสิ่งทอเหลือทิ้ง
The research aimed to Develop of textile in SLUB Yarn fabric from textile material waste. The purpose is to develop Fancy yarn (SLUB Yarn) from textile material waste. To develop woven with Fancy yarn (SLUB Yarn) textile material waste. To study Fancy yarn (SLUB Yarn) properties and woven with Fancy yarn (SLUB Yarn) from textile material waste. The First step is sorting and scouring textile material waste from silk yarn and to spin 2 types of Fancy yarn SLUB Yarn as 50 percent silk fiber blended with 50 percent Cotton and other type as 100 percent Silk. The Second steps is to testing of physical properties in the textile testing laboratory. The testing results are Silk Fancy yarn (SLUB Yarn) from textile material waste have twisted more than Silk blended with Cotton. It make textile material waste from Silk yarn smaller and stronger than Silk blended with Cotton and also more tenacity meanwhile it has highest tensile strength and elongation than Silk blended with Cotton. The Third steps to produce woven fabrics with plain weave structure. The weaving results have 2 fabrics the first types from Fancy yarn (SLUB Yarn) weaved by 50 percent Silk fiber blended with 50 percent Cotton in Industrial woven system and the second types from Fancy yarn (SLUB Yarn) weaved by 100 percent silk in hand woven system or with traditional weaving loom. The Last steps are to test the 8 topics physical properties of 2 woven in the textile testing laboratory. First Colorfastness to washing testing was found that Silk fabrics of Fancy yarn (SLUB Yarn) from textile material waste is durable to washing than 4.58 percent. Second Water absorbency Testing was found that both of two fabric types are equal to 60 (seconds). Third Moistures Management testing was found that the moisture absorption and wet textile as follows at 6 parts : the duration of the wet cloth was found that Silk fabrics of Fancy yarn (SLUB Yarn) from textile material waste is more absorbed than Silk fiber blended with Cotton and the duration of adsorption rate was found that Silk fiber blended with Cotton fabrics of Fancy yarn (SLUB Yarn) from textile material waste is better than Silk fabrics. The radial distribution of moisture on the both side of fabric surface was found that Silk fiber blended with Cotton fabrics of Fancy yarn (SLUB Yarn) from textile material waste is better and more effective and also there are the distribution and direction of motion better than Silk fabrics of Fancy yarn (SLUB Yarn) from textile material waste. MoreoverIt was humidity control overall properties. Forth Pilling Resistance Testing was found that both of 2 fabrics are Pilling Resistance fur and beads up on the surface slightly. Fifth Fabrics Thickness testing was found that Silk fabrics of Fancy yarn (SLUB Yarn) from textile material waste more over was 0.10 mm. Sixth Dimensional stability to washing after 5 times Testing (changes size after washing) was found that Silk fiber blended with Cotton fabrics of Fancy yarn (SLUB Yarn) from textile material waste was shrinkage after washing in the warp yarn more than -7.6 and shrinkage after washing in the weft yarn more than -7.0. Seventh pH-Acid Value Testing was found that Silk fiber blended with Cotton fabrics of Fancy yarn (SLUB Yarn) from textile material waste has pH-Acid less than 0.07. Eighth Heavy Metal Testing was found that Silk fiber blended with Cotton fabrics of Fancy yarn (SLUB Yarn) from textile material waste has 3 Heavy Metals such as chromium lead and copper while Silk fabrics of Fancy yarn (SLUB Yarn) from textile material waste has 2 Heavy Metals such as copper and lead.
วิถีชีวิตและความมั่นคงของอาหารภาคใต้
The purpose of this project is to study way of life and food security of people in the southern part of Thailand in terms of ability to use existing local resources for food food processing cooking types of food local cuisine and food consumption culture. This research is both quantitative and qualitative. Research tools consisted of questionnaires in-depth interviews focus group and participative observation. Quantitative data were statistically analyzed for frequency and percentage and qualitative data were analyzed with content analysis method. Results of the research show that firstly most of the local Southern people purchased food from market. Regarding consumption pattern most local people usually eat 3 times a day. Food preservation and processing methods included drying salt curing pickling fermentation and smoking. In terms of problems and solutions in food management southern people solved the problems by growing their own food plants or finding alternative food. Secondly a variety of foods are available and these various types of food resources are regarded as culinary treasures which guarantee food security. Thirdly food and food resources of local southern people could be accessed in 4 ways: planting collecting from nature purchasing and sharing. Finally for food utilization local southern people managed their food and food resources by making use of their knowledge talents and skills in food resources management for use in their daily life for producing and acquiring food and for use as raw materials in making various utensils. Concerning attitude towards self-dependence most southern people thought that they could depend on themselves for food.
Phytotoxicity assessment of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons Co-Contamination in Soil during Economic Legume Seedling Growth
This research studied combined toxicities of 4 generally found Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) - anthracene fluorene fluoranthene and phenanthrene – during growth of 3 legume seedlings - cow pea mungbean and longbean - planted in varied combination of PAH contaminant in soil. Results showed that mungbean growth was more sensitive to PAH co-contaminated soil than cow pea and longbean. Co-contamination of all 4 PAHs was more toxic to legume than each pair of PAHs. Shoot length and fresh weight of legume seedling were more sensitive to co-contamination of all 4 PAHs than root length. Dry weight of legume seedling was the least sensitive to co-contamination of all PAHs.
