This research is aimed to developed and evaluate a competency model of production engineer in the automotive industry. The data is collected from Amata City Rayong. The research is performed with two steps: 1) create an engineering competency in the automotive industry using Delphi technique with 17 experts. Then 2) review the engineering competency with the focus group of management staffs from automotive industry in Amata City Rayong. The statistics used in the analysis were percentile median and inter-quartile range. The results show that competency is consist of three parts. Part 1: management competency Part 2: functional competency Part 3: production engineering characteristic and consisted of four parts 1) the management of operational performance 2) production engineering 3) engineering knowledge 4) personal characteristics. Examining results in the competency model of production engineer in the automotive industry: the data is collected from Amata City Rayong created are appropriate and feasible in practice and performance as a performance model is built according to expert opinion.

Modeling and Forecasting the Demand for Automotive Part of Foreign Markets to Thailand
Modeling and Forecasting the Demand for Automotive Part of Foreign Markets to Thailand

The problem of this research is automotive part companies do not have order because of the world economic crisis and effect to automotive industry. Automotive and automotive parts demand in the world decrease. Automotive Industry of Thailand received affect. Automotive part companies cannot export to foreign markets. The companies in Thailand need the forecasting of automotive part quantity demanded by foreign markets by selecting the most accurate model. This paper presents the modeling for forecasting demand for automotive part of foreign markets to Thailand with time series forecasting techniques. In this study the automotive part are wheels and including parts and accessories because Thailand exported the most in group of automotive parts. These five countries have consistently demanded the largest number of wheels and including parts and accessories are Japan China South Korea Germany and Indonesia. The research involves historical collecting data for the period of 1997 to 2008. The evaluation function of forecast error is used with MAPE. The results reveal that each country suits for each model in term of the chosen dimension. The government can use the forecasting demand for effective production planning by informing manufactures.

The purpose of this research is to design and develop dummy (anthropometric test dummy) for motorcycle frontal collision test. The conceptual design of dummy is male aging between 25-55 years old 6 pieces of rib and deformable 76.2 mm. In order to performance test it was classified into 2 testing by static testing and dynamic testing. For static testing the energy absorption behavior between force and deflection or “ static curves” is determined. While dynamic testing is considered to the energy absorption behavior between forces and several velocities or dynamic forcedeformation curves impact acceleration impact force on sternum and injury severity with the relationship of viscous in velocity function. The results of the energy absorption behavior on chest of dummy from static testing the tendency of chest deflection is relatively low during the initial force and suddenly increasing when rise to the critical point. This behavior is similar to the energy absorption of the human chest. Therefore the design features of this test dummy can reflect behavior that is close to the human anatomy. In case of dynamic testing it is discovered the ability of the dummy testing to absorb up to 560 J impact acceleration 3 8 . 4 3 g impact force on sternum 5 . 0 9 4 kN. The viscous in velocity function is 0 . 8 2 5 m/ s which compared to injury severity at AIS3+ ( or higher than serious injury) . Therefore the dummy design in this research project corresponds to the collision test of a motorcycle.

การออกแบบและพัฒนาชุดขับเคลื่อนในการทดสอบการชนรถจักรยานยนต์

A design and development of powertrain module crash test using with the motorcycle crash test is aim to create a special tool for automotive assessment and safety engineering based on the realistic test. In order to main system of power module tester is consisting of powertrain system using electrical motor transferring system using chains and gears and control direction system using dual rails respectively. Based on powertrain module tester performance crashing speed relative angle between target and distance before crash are regarded. Nevertheless the result of testing performance was conducted to statistic hypothesis test by Mean Absolute Deviation: MAD Standard Deviation: SD Mean Square Error: MSE Mean Absolute Percent Error: MAPE and Root Mean Square Error: RMSE. The results of this approach discovered that the crashing speed was the highest error with 96% and the lowest was distance before crash. Furthermore it was corresponding to the statistic hypothesis test. However the result of the error was influence of the rails distance which limit by funding. In case of crash energy the mean of energy was appeared on 10.978 J. Whereas the tendency of variable was similar to polynomial equation.

The aim of this research is to design a prototype of a male dummy chest for motorcycle crash tests. The primary criteria discussed in this study are based on the unique features of Thai ergonomic body sizes with an age range of the highest fatal rate and the fundamental design of the Hybrid III 50th percentile male crash test dummy. A comprehensive experimental study of crash behavior of the prototype undergoing axial compressive loading is performed using the mutual procedure of cadaveric chest testing. For design criteria the largest chest deflection of 80 mm the maximum acceleration of 38.47g and the absorbed energy of 178.369 Joules are considered in the experiment. The obtained results show a good agreement with the experimental data of other researches in which the capability of the energy absorption depends on impact velocities. In addition the energy absorption capability of this prototype can accurately assess an injury level under AIS 3+. For this reason the first prototype of a male chest dummy is particularly suitable for an assessment of a lower serious injury level in a motorcycle crash test.
