This research presents a study of the compressive strength tensile strength flexural strength and water absorption of Cellular Lightweight Concrete containing fine rice hush-bark ash. Portland cement (CT) is partially replaced with pozzolans 20 30 and 40% by weight of the cementitious materials. The results show that the compressive strength tensile strength flexural strength and low water absorption of Cellular Lightweight Concrete improves substantially with partial replacement of Portland cement with rice hush-bark ash. Cellular Lightweight Concrete mix cement containing 20 and 30% of pozzolans can be used to make cementitious materials

This research presents a study of the use of classified fly ash and ground rice husk ash as a pozzolanic material in producing high-strength concrete. Portland cement (CT) is partially replaced with classified fly ash and ground rice husk ash by weight of the cementitious materials. Compressive strength porosity and chloride penetration were investigated. The results show that the compressive strength resistance to chloride and low porosity of high-strength concrete improves substantially with partial replacement of Portland cement with fly ash and rice husk ash.

This research aims to test the properties of concrete block mixed with basalt fragment as aggregates in products. The mix ratios of Portland cement type1 : basalt fragment : water are 1 : 10 : 0.7 1 : 10.5 : 0.7 1 : 11 : 0.7 1 : 11.5 : 0.7 and 1 : 12 : 0.7 by weight. The concrete block samples were mixed and casted in 7 x 19 x 39 centimeter by the concrete block molding machine. The concrete block sample testing follows the TIS 58-2533 standard on non-load bearing concrete blocks. From the results the density compressive strength and thermal conductivity of concrete block mixed with basalt fragment are lower than the common concrete block. In addition the water absorption and volumetric change are higher than the common concrete block. The optimal ratio in this work is 1: 11: 0.7

This research aims to study the using basalt rock fragments to develop as interlocking block product. The mixture ratios of Portland cement type1: basalt rock fragments are 11 : 6 1 : 6.5 1 : 7 1 : 7.5 and 1 : 8 by weight and water per cement ratio was 0.6 by weight. The interlocking block samples are cast in 10 x 20 x 10 cubic centimeter of dimension with manual compression molding machine. The interlocking block samples were tested in accordance with TCPS 602-2547 standard which subjected for the interlocking block. The results show that the weight compressive strength and thermal conductivity of interlocking blocks with high quantity of basalt rock fragments are lower than interlocking blocks with low quantity of basalt rock fragments while that the water absorption of interlocking blocks with high quantity of basalt rock fragments are higher. From this research the medium and small enterprises could choose the proper ration for the interlocking block production mixing basalt rock fragments as per requirement.

Effect of bottom ash as fine aggregate on strength of concrete
Effect of bottom ash as fine aggregate on strength of concrete

This research was aimed to study the effect of bottom ash (BA) as fine aggregate in fly ash concrete and cement-only concrete on strength of water-cured and uncured concrete. The water to binder ratios were 0.35 and 0.55 to represent high strength and normal strength concrete respectively. The weight percentages of replacement of cement by fly ash were 0 and 30%. The replacement ratios of bottom ash as fine aggregate were 0 10 and 30% by volume of fine aggregate. The results indicated that the slump and setting time of concrete increased with the increase of bottom ash content. In contrast the compressive and tensile strength decreased with the increase of bottom ash content. From the curing sensitivity index it was showed that the fly ash concrete required longer curing period than cement-only concrete. In case of high strength concrete the use of bottom ash in fly ash concrete can reduce curing sensitivity of concrete
