What If Analysis: Hazard Identification Techniques for Preventing Work Accidents
What-If Analysis is a simply uncomplicated hazard indication method. Its analysis method is highly flexible by brainstorming of analytical team that have good knowledge and experiences for thinking about questions regarding undesirable events that might occur and cause severe incidents or accidents by the asking questions begin with “What If…..?” or “What would happen if…?”. This method can be used for any time and it will get highest benefits if it is used during the design process or improvement of existing systems because all systems will be improved to be more safety at early stage. Furthermore it is also suitable to identify hazards from dynamic activities such as car driving and cleaning etc. What-If Analysis includes 4 steps: establishing cope of questions setting analytical team studying information and related documentation establishing questions and finding effects. Analytical team should include at least landlord design engineer safety officer technician and maintenance technician and if this analysis method is used for only identifying hazard technically and if should beware of overlooking critical problems occurred from many related incidents
Use of Reading Strategies in English Academic Reading
The purpose of this study was to investigate how Thai undergraduate students do to improve their reading comprehension skills. This paper presents a qualitative investigation. A semi-structured interview is served as the main source of data. Forty students from different faculties of Khon Kaen University participated in the study. The transcribed interview data was analyzed with ‘open and axial coding’ techniques. The data analyses revealed two main emergent categories of reading strategies: 1) reading comprehension strategies (RC); and 2) reading comprehension enhancement strategies (RCE) with altogether 39 individual reading strategies. The interview result showed that the most frequently found strategies being reported were from the first category e.g. looking for unfamiliar vocabulary items and then searching for their meanings before reading (BRC 1) and searching for the meanings of unfamiliar vocabulary items while reading (WRC 1). On the contrary the students reported not to rely heavily on the strategies from the second category
Core Competency Indicator of The Department of Corrections’ Employees from The Second Order Factor Analysis
This research objective is to find Core Competency Indicator of the Department of Corrections’ Employees The researcher collects data from those of 11437 employees and executives of the Department of Corrections. A proportion Sampling of to the method of Thompson is used to define sample size. At 95% level of confidence the sample size is equal to 372 samples but the researcher puts more 10% to the sample size in order to avoid problem of incomplete answers and gets 410 samples as a target. The Probability Sampling is used through the technique of Stratified random sampling. Finally 410 surveys are collected. The quantitative analysis is used through the Second Orders Factor Analysis by LISREL Program. The finding of research is that Core Competency Indicator of the Department of Corrections’ Employees derives firstly from Managerial Competencies secondly from Leadership Competencies and lastly fromTask Achievement Competencies
Psycho-Social Factors Correlated to Instructors’ Behavior as a Principle of the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy
The purposes of this study were to compare interaction and predict power of psychosocial factors affecting instructors’ behavior with biosocial characteristics. The subjects comprised 300 instructors at Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon during the 2nd semester of 2009 academic year. Questionnaires were used in this research. Data were analyzed and presented by percentage mean standard deviation analysis of variance Scheffe’ Method and Stepwise Multiple Regression Analysis. The results revealed that Instructors with high behavior as a principle of the sufficiency economy philosophy were instructors with high work socialization and achievement motive and with high group of psycho-social factors. Most of them were female instructors. Moreover instructors’ behavior as a principle of the sufficiency economy philosophy were predicted by work socialization self-ability perception according to a principle of the sufficiency economy philosophy and achievement motive
