The effects of plant growth regulators alone or in combination on Hexachlorocyclohexane (HCH) phytotoxicity were studied. Waxy corn seeds were immersed in different plant growth regulators that are 1) 2 mg/l Indolebutyric acid (IBA) 2) 2 mg/l Thidiazuron (TDZ) 3) 2 mg/l Gibberellic acid (GA3) 4) 1 mg/l IBA + 1 mg/l TDZ 5) 1 mg/l TDZ + 1 mg/l GA3 and 6) 1 mg/l IBA + 1 mg/l GA3 then sawn in 30 mg/kg HCH-contaminated soil or non-contaminated soil for 10 days. All plant growth regulators could enhance shoot and root dried weight of waxy corn seedlings in non-contaminated soil. Only 2 mg/l GA3 could enhance root length of waxy corn seedlings in non-contaminated soil. In HCH-contaminated soil only 2 mg/l TDZ could increase shoot dried weight of waxy corn seedlings. Also 2 mg/l IBA or 1 mg/l IBA and1 mg/l GA3 could increase root fresh weight of waxy corn seedlings. The exposure with HCH in soil did not affect to shoot and root tissue even though the growth of shoot and root were inhibited. However the exposure with HCH and receive exogenous plant growth regulator induced aerenchyma formation in cortex and pith of waxy corn root.

This research aims to study the properties of PMA asphalt shingle roof mixed withnatural latex by various contents of natural latex to PMA asphalt (e.g. 0.0 0.5 1.0 1.52.0 2.5 and 3.0 by weight). The heat pot was used to mix the mixture with lower than160 degree of Celsius. The PMA asphalt shingle roof mixed with natural latex sampleswere cast in 20 x 20 x 0.5 centimeter of dimension and added the fiber plate and stoneflake to reinforce and decorate the roof plate. The properties of the roof plates weretested under ASTM standard. From the results it is found that all samples can resist thetemperature higher than 200 degree of Celsius and the increasing of natural latex (lowerthan 1.5 of ratio) can improve the hardness property while the tensile strength andelongation properties are decreased. However when the amount of natural latexincreased to 2.0 of ratio the tensile strength are increased. After compare the PMA asphalt shingle roof mixed with natural latex (2.0 of ratio) and the general shingle roof found that the researched shingle roof can use as well as the general shingle roof and more tightly. The research results can develop to the PMA shingle roof products and replace the import shingle roofs.

Nowadays an automotive industry steadily has been growing and playing a major role on economy development for many years. The crash box is one of the most important parts for safety but it was found that the crash boxes manufactured domestically are not met international standard requirements. This is due to process and material limitation. This process for automotive safety test requires high budget and there is unclear approach for specific test. Therefore a study of crash boxes referred to energy absorption project was conducted as the alternative materials for product. Consequently this project was aimed to design and test crash boxes which made from the diversity of the alternative materials such as aluminum aluminum reinforced by foam resin reinforced by fiberglass resin reinforced by water hyacinth and resin reinforced by water hyacinth and husk. In addition it was also emphasized in studying energy absorption behavior and physical deformation of crash boxes after dynamic and static energy being applied. The experimental works were applied for these tests in partly referenced to US NCAP and ECE R29 standard for automobile collision test. Testing all types of crash boxes indicated that the aluminum reinforced by foam type was able to absorb energy at 189 MJ/m3. It is higher than resin reinforced by water hyacinth and husk at 1 MJ/m3 as 188 times. Furthermore the comparison of the energy absorption (per unit volume) between the aluminum reinforced by foam type and the steel type from the previous project equivalent 20 MJ/m3 found that it is 8.45 times of difference. While the front impact test was not successful because the size of crash boxes was not suitable for the energy volume. It was a cause for non-available calculation of energy absorption value.
