An application of Bayesian Models for risk of withdrawal from calculus 2 for engineers of students at Faculty of Engineering, Rajamangala University of Technology Pra Nakorn, North Bangkok Campus
The objectives of this research are: to study the characteristics of students in the Faculty of Engineering at Rajamangala University of Technology Pra Nakorn North Bangkok Campus that influence to the risk of withdrawal from Calculus 2 for Engineers; to predict the risk of withdrawal from Calculus 2 for Engineers; and to use the results of the study for planning and solving the problems of withdrawal from Calculus 2 for Engineers. The sample is 226 students in the Faculty of Engineering at Rajamangala University of Technology who enrolled the Calculus 2 for engineers in the second semester of the academic year 2009. The data are from the questionnaire. The factors considered are grad point average the number of enrollments for the Calculus 1 for engineers Calculus 1 for Engineers grade the number of courses that emphasize on calculation that were enrolled in the second semester of the academic year 2009 the sacrifices of students for the Calculus 2 for Engineers course and the need to withdraw from Calculus 2 for Engineers course before other courses. The logistic regression model in which the parameters are estimated by using Bayesian methods is used for analyzing the data. The study shows that the factors that influence to the risk of withdrawal from the Calculus 2 for Engineers are grade point average Calculus 1 for Engineers grade the number of courses that emphasize on calculation that were enrolled in the second semester of the academic year 2009 and the sacrifices of students for the Calculus 2 for Engineers and the need to withdraw from Calculus 2 for Engineers before other courses. The factor that does not influence to the risk of withdrawal from the Calculus 2 for Engineers is the number of enrollments for the Calculus 1 for Engineers.
The Model of Vocational Teacher Development to be the Teacher Researchers
The purposes of the research were to procedure the Model of Vocational Teacher Development to be the teacher researchers to construct and check the quality of instruments used for the model and to evaluate the achievement of the model. The samples were 48 teachers and selected by using purposive sampling. Data collection tools were the innovation selecting instrument the quality evaluation and the propriety evaluation form of the Model. The statistics used in data analysis were percentage mean and standard deviation. The result showed that; 1) The stakeholders’ view toward the possibility on the model with the research process were at the high level. 2) It was revealed the 20 people who had been oriented in the construction of learning and teaching innovation were ready for research process. 3) There are 20 proposal researcher submitted were at the high level of quality. 4) There are 14 completed researches submitted were at the high level which were issued as the research articles published in Satun Technical college research article journal. 5) The expert evaluated the propriety on the model were at the high level. 6) The stakeholder satisfaction on the Model were at the high level
The Development of Model Creation of Industrial Teacher Graduated from Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon
The objective of this research was to study present and future desirable characteristics of industrial teachers Consequently developed a role model to encourage desirable characteristics of industrial teachers who graduate from RMUTP. Multi-step randomized population is categorized into three groups defining size from tabel of Krejcie & Morgan. The first group is 120 administrators from government and private vocational schools located in Bangkok Metropolitan and surrounding area. The second group is 291 vocational students. The third group is 165 vocational student possessors. The total number of population is 576. The instrument was a questionnaire for each sample. All data were analyzed to determine statistical results and presented in tubular form. A focus group meeting of 15 lectures from the Faculty of Industrial Education was organized. The group meeting suggested a role model for future desirable characteristics of industrial teachers. The study result showed that most population from those three groups highly agreed in three aspects namely Personality Ethics and morality and Professional skill aspects. The focus group meeting suggested improving the curriculum and also the activities. The activities were needed to improve both curriculum activity and teaching activity of lecturers.
