This research aims to develop Thai herbal formulas for household cleaning products and reduce the use of chemicals by using kaffir lime herbs to extract essential oils by using a method of squeezing from the bark. The result is a dark green essential oil with a pleasant aroma when mixed with liquid hand soap and natural residues such as water extracted from silkworm cocoons to add moisture and lye to remove it. Reduce the use of chemical flavoring agents the use of coloring chemicals the use of moisturizing agents and the use of degreasers. In this research the formula for hand washing liquid soap using 80 ml. of essential oil from kaffir lime peel is the right amount resulting in liquid hand soap with a pH value of 7.3 which is the value that is in the standard for mixed liquid soap products. TIS 1403-2551 can inhibit the bacteria Staphylococcus aureus (S.aureus) a bacterium that can cause diarrhea in humans.
The development of a clear and fat separator of the jatropha oil
This research objectives are to develop a clear and fat separator of the Jatropha oil and to evaluate the performance. A machine consisted raw materials tank reactor clear and separated tank and control set. The reactor has diameter and the capacity of 50 cm and 90L and heated by electrical heater (3000 W). Flat blade agitator is driven by 0.25 HP of motor with 150 rpm and cooled by the water tube coil in diameter of 2.5 cm inside reactor tank. The clear and fat separated tank has a diameter and the capacity of 50 cm and 110L. From the evaluation of the machine performance raw jatropha oil (40 L) properties are viscosity and flash point of 42.66 cP and 240oC. After esterification process at temperature of 60oC at 150 rpm agitation for 60 min washed five times with water oil ratio is 1: 2 at a time for 20 min and then boiled to remove water for 60 min. The oil is reacted in tranesterification process at temperature of 60oC 150 rpm for 60 min and precipitated glycerol for 90 min and then washed and boiled to remove water. The products are glycerin (15 L) and ester oil (25 L) with the viscosity and flash point are 42.16 cP and 150oC and the color changed to clear yellow. The machine cost is 39690 THB. and payback period is 75 days
The product of ceiling plate-Bar from base bark of physic-nut by phenol-cyanate
The objective of this research is to produce the T-Bar. The mixed Gule Phenol-cyanate to made ceiling Plate-Bar plate from the agriculture process’s waste. The researcher brought physic nut plant to produce T- BAR plate for interior building. It was tested based on Thailand industrial standard (TIS 876-2547) for determination of moisture content density absorption and expansion when soak in water as well a cohesion and perpendicular surface tension flexural resistance and modulus of elasticity . at The results show that suitable size material should not thicker than 2 centimeters. The experiment of ratio between physic nut plant and phenol cyanide resin at 90:10 and 92:8. It was found that suitable proportion of physic nut pant and phenol cyanide resin was 92:8. The temperature used for compression was 120o C. The appropriate density prior to the compression plate was 0.80 g/cm.3 The average moisture content of materials before compression was 8.88%. The suitable compression was 151 lb/in?. The moisture content of the product was 7.64% The density was 0.818 g/cm.3 The expansion value after soaking in water for 2 hours was 8.02% and water absorption was 14.22%. Inner bond was 0.55 MPa. Flexibility was 22.44 MPa. and mordulus was 2112MPa.The result of testing complied with the Thailand Industrial Standard (TIS 876-2547).It was concluded that physic nut plant can be used as raw material to make T- Bar plate for interior building
The design and development of packaging for mixing mangosteen extract soap of faculty of science and Technology, Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi
The purposes of this research were 1) to study problems and needs of designing packages for mixing mangosteen extract soap for the Faculty of Science and Technology Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi 2) to design and develop packages for mixing mangosteen extract soap and 3) to assess the satisfactions towards the packages from manufacturers consumers and packaging experts. The samples consisted of 235 people. A structured interview and questionnaire were used to collect the data which was then analyzed using percentile values means and standard division. The result showed that since there had not been packages for this mixing mangosteen extract soap to be sold in the market four patterns of packages were designed and construced for three products. The three products were 1) 80 grams of mixing mangosteen extract soap 2) 100 ml. of facial cream mixed with mangosteen extract and 3) 400 ml. of mixing mangosteen extract liquid soap. The second pattern was rated a high level of satisfaction by the target group.
Effect of different colchicine concentrations on the morphology of physic nut (jatropha curcas l.)
Physic Nut (Jatropha curcas L.) was a narrow genetic based plant resulting in low productivity. Colchicine application was a mutation technique that could induce genetic variability for plant improvement. In this study the 24 hour soaked physic nut seeds and the 3 – day physic nut seedlings were treated with 0 0.05 0.15 and 0.20% of colchicine for 48 hours and there were soaked for 24 hours to induce polyploidy. The results showed that the survival rates were 67.15 and 93.93 % at the 0.05% of colchicine. DNA content in the survived seedlings was detected by flow cytometry. The number of tetraploid and mixoploid were increased in the 3-day seedlings treated with 0.05% of colchicine. The morphology characteristics at the first flowering stage were follows; the diploid had average height branch numbers spikelets per head ratio of male and female flowes leaf size (W x L) and stomata size (W x H) were 249.50 cm. 15.7 214.7 24.8 :1 14.8 x 13.2 cms and 7.88 x 50.25 micrometers respectively while the mutant had the average of 180.6 - 21.54 cm. 9.8 - 13.0 37.9 - 17.53 19.3 : 1 42.8 : 1 17.0 - 14.4 cms and 61.0 - 70.5 x 103.33 - 116.1 micrometers respectively. so The mutant had better characteristics but their fruits could not mature.
