The objective of this research is to study the implementing the agricultural residue to the design of outdoor paving block for lowering the building temperature. The base layer admixture (layer no.1) is selected from cement type1: quarry dust: rice husk: rice straw: water ratios equal to 1: 3: 0: 0: 0.3 1: 1: 0: 1: 0.5 1: 1. 0.25: 0.75: 0.5 1: 1: 0.5: 0.5: 0.5 1: 1: 0.75: 0.25: 0.5 and 1: 1: 1: 0: 0.5 by weight. The surface layer admixture (layer no.2) is white silica cement: yellow stone chip no.4: water equals to 1: 4: 0.3 by weight. The exterior floor-covering blocks were tested following density testing water absorption testing compressive testing and surface temperature testing compare with laterite sandstone paving concrete block marble and granite. Resulting the best ratio of cement type1: quarry dust: rice husk: rice straw: water is 1: 1: 0.75: 0.25: 0.5 that has properties at 28 days following 1939.43 kg/m of density 14.97 % of water absorption 284.69 ksc of compressive strength and lower than other paving blocks around 3 – 13 degrees Celsius of surface temperature

This research aims to study the application of kaolin with coconut meal plywood from corncobs and durian peel in concrete masonry unit wall for increasing effective heat protection and lightweight. The ratio of cement type 1: kaolin is equal to 1: 60 by weight. The kaolin is replaced by fiber include coconut meal fiber corn cob fiber durian peel fiber with 1.67% 3.33% and 5% by weight of kaolin. The kaolin concrete block mixed with fiber sample size is formed to 6.9 x 39 x 19 centimeter with the hydraulic compactor. The samples tested in physical and mechanical properties follow the TIS 58-2533 standard. Resulting their fibers can reduce the density thermal conductivity and compressive strength and increase the changing length and water absorption of kaolin concrete blocks. The kaolin concrete block without fiber has highest compressive strength followed by the kaolin concrete block mixed with corn cob fiber the kaolin concrete block mixed with coconut meal fiber and the kaolin concrete block mixed with durian peel fiber has lowest compressive strength respectively. However their fibers have possibility to be composite materials to reduce weight of kaolin concrete blocks.

การใช้กากมะพร้าว ตันข้าวโพดและเปลือกทุเรียนเป็นวัสดุประกอบชีวภาพทดแทนไม้ในแผ่นใยอัดความหนาแน่นปานกลาง

This research aims to study the application of coconut meal corn cob and durian peel as wood-substituted biocomposites in medium density fiberboard. The fiber: urea formaldehyde glue: isocyanate glue with polymeric diphenymethane diisocyanate type (pMDI) ratio is equal to 1: 0.13: 0.003. The fibers are taken from coconut meal corn cob and durian peel that 7 ratios are used to all of fiber mixing. The fiberboard production use 130°C of temperature with 20 – 50 kg/sq.cm of compressive pressure with 8 minutes per piece of rate. Their fiberboards have 603 – 856 kg/m of density that was tested follow the TIS 876-2547 standard. Resulting the MM33 ratio (coconut meal fibers: corn cob fibers: durian peel fibers is equal to 0.33: 0.33: 0.33) and the CC50 ratio (coconut meal fibers: corn cob fibers: durian peel fibers is equal to 0.50: 0.25: 0.25) can pass the standard in physical properties and mechanical properties. Moreover their fiberboards have good thermal insulation.

Using the kaolin with coir, rice straw and rice hush in concrete masonry unit wall for increasing effective heat protection
Using the kaolin with coir, rice straw and rice hush in concrete masonry unit wall for increasing effective heat protection

The objective of this research project is to develop an effectively applicable prevention of heat for concrete masonry unit wall. By using kaolin mixture coir rice straw and husk as a major ingredient in concrete to replacing usual stone dust the hollow non-load-bearing concrete masonry units obtained had the size of 70 X 190 X 390 mm. The test results showed that the reliably ideal ratio of these mixture materials had to be from the combination of kaolin coir rice straw and husk by replacing them at 5%: 5%: 15% and 50/0. The block obtained also had other certain qualifications such as Weight at 6.08 kg. water absorption at 7.96% and compressive strength at 65.4 ksc. Moreover these combined materials harbored heat capacity less than the standard concrete masonry units with the weight not more than 29%.
