A Study of local identity of the lower northern of Thailand for graphic design on souvenir packaging

The Purpose of this research is to study about local identity in Lower Northern and product graphic design creation for local souvenir that leads to promotion in sales and promulgate in brand. The sample used in this research is entrepreneurs in the Lower Northern and customers or tourists by using cluster sampling method in 9 areas and accidental sampling in 3 weeks using 100 samples. Research tools have a 3 parts consisting of exploratory questionnaire for graphic design satisfaction questionnaire and efficiency performance evaluation. Data analysis is used by analysis frequency percentage and standard deviation. Process of research methodology consists of 1. Primary survey about identity attitude of Lower Northern 2. Analysis and conclude 3. Design and create graphic design 4. Satisfactory test 5. Efficiency performance of graphic design The results show that 1. The identity of Lower Northern should associate to religious place such as temple cathedral national park historical site occasion dialect language costume quotes and local souvenir. 2. The analysis of data about the relation of the most reminded Lower Northern place and the most participated place hasn’t correlative. For example “Tak Bart Tae Wo” tradition at Utaithani is the most participated needs but least memorized showing that special occasion has no relative or reminded to tourists but dimension and physical development do stick to them. 3. For upper northern area Graphic design pattern 2 is inspired from the “River Of Life”. 4. Efficiency form of lower north graphic design Overall is still well (Average 4.00). Overall of creation in color can tell and demonstrate to history of lower north and these can be applied for production design of souvenir is still well (Average 4.40). Next to below Pattern can communicate the local identity of lower north and dimension correlating to sight and restore form are still good (Average 3.80) At least Handiwork can tell and demonstrate to the identity of lower north (Average 3.60)

A Study Analysis of Fibers from Banana Trees in North Thailand for Product Creation
A Study Analysis of Fibers from Banana Trees in North Thailand for Product Creation

This research is the analytical study of fibers from banana trees in northern area. The study has been conducted on planted banana-species areas in 5 northern provinces. There are 9 studied banana species. The objectives of the studies are to utilize these mentioned banana species for product creation. It is also to find out the banana-fiber-extraction process for new materials used as guidelines to design new products which help generate extra revenue for farmers after harvest season. The result from the research indicates that the most appropriate species for the research is Musa acuminata Colla due to its strongest texture in term of thickness. The leftovers of banana (stalk and pseudo stem in dried form) after agricultural process have been extracted into straight fiber ropes. Then they are processed into straight fiber ropes through hand-cutting by northern villagers. As for the 5 types of natural fibers. It is found that banana fibers mixed with hemp fibers at 50% proportion for each yields the highest pull force of 678.71 N. To sum up the manufacturing production and creation is in a good level by average value 4.17 and the product users’ satisfactions is a good level by average value 4.07.

An application of Bayesian Models for risk of withdrawal from calculus 2 for engineers of students at Faculty of Engineering, Rajamangala University of Technology Pra Nakorn, North Bangkok Campus

The objectives of this research are: to study the characteristics of students in the Faculty of Engineering at Rajamangala University of Technology Pra Nakorn North Bangkok Campus that influence to the risk of withdrawal from Calculus 2 for Engineers; to predict the risk of withdrawal from Calculus 2 for Engineers; and to use the results of the study for planning and solving the problems of withdrawal from Calculus 2 for Engineers. The sample is 226 students in the Faculty of Engineering at Rajamangala University of Technology who enrolled the Calculus 2 for engineers in the second semester of the academic year 2009. The data are from the questionnaire. The factors considered are grad point average the number of enrollments for the Calculus 1 for engineers Calculus 1 for Engineers grade the number of courses that emphasize on calculation that were enrolled in the second semester of the academic year 2009 the sacrifices of students for the Calculus 2 for Engineers course and the need to withdraw from Calculus 2 for Engineers course before other courses. The logistic regression model in which the parameters are estimated by using Bayesian methods is used for analyzing the data. The study shows that the factors that influence to the risk of withdrawal from the Calculus 2 for Engineers are grade point average Calculus 1 for Engineers grade the number of courses that emphasize on calculation that were enrolled in the second semester of the academic year 2009 and the sacrifices of students for the Calculus 2 for Engineers and the need to withdraw from Calculus 2 for Engineers before other courses. The factor that does not influence to the risk of withdrawal from the Calculus 2 for Engineers is the number of enrollments for the Calculus 1 for Engineers.

Species diversity and reproductive phenology of Podostemaceae in Na Hahaeo District, Loei Province, Northeastern Thailand.
Species diversity and reproductive phenology of Podostemaceae in Na Hahaeo District, Loei Province, Northeastern Thailand.

The species composition of Podostemaceae was studied in Loei northeastern Thailand from November 2009 to July 2010 by extensive surveying in the rapids and waterfalls inside and outside of national parks wildlife sanctuaries and protected areas. The samples collected are classified into 2 subfamilies which are Tristichoideae and Podostemoideae. The former contains 2 genera and 3 species Dalzellia kailarsenii Terniopsis sp. 1 Terniopsis sp. 2. The latter has 4 genera and 9 species Hanseniella heterophylla Hydrobryum japonicum Hydrobryum loeicum Hydrobryum tardhuangense Hydrobryum vientianense Hydrobryum sp. 1 Hydrobryum sp. 2 Polypleurum sessile Thawatchaia trilobata. The highest number of species occurs in Hydrobryum with 6 species following by Terniopsis with 2 species. The other four genera have one species each. Based on morphological and molecular analyses revealed that 2 species of the genus Hydrobryum are new and 2 taxa of Terniopsis are also new species. Polypleurum sessile and Thawatchaia trilobata are new recorded in Loei province. The result from this study indicates that the genus richness is relatively high in Loei province which encompasses 60% of the total number of genera (10) in Thailand. The plants in vegetative phase are completely submersed in swiftly running water during a warm wet season (May-October). The plants flower and set fruits and seeds when exposing to air during water level drop in a cool dry season (November- February).
