Strength and chloride resistance of blended Portland cement mortar containing palm oil fuel ash and fly ash
Strength and chloride resistance of blended Portland cement mortar containing palm oil fuel ash and fly ash

This paper presented a study on the strength and chloride resistance of mortars made with ternary blends of ordinary Portland cement (OPC) ground palm oil fuel ash (POA) and classified fly ash (FA). The mortar mixtures were made with Portland cement type I containing 0-40wt% FA and POA. FA and POA with 1wt%-3wt% retained on a sieve No.325 were used. The compressive strength and rapid chloride penetration depth of mortars were determined. The results reveal that the use of ternary blended cements produces good strength mortars. The use of the blend of FA and POA also produces high strength mortars and excellent resistance to chloride penetration owing to the synergic effect of FA and POA. A mathematical analysis and two-parameter polynomial model were presented to predict the compressive strength. The mathematical model correlated well with the experimental results. The computer 3-D graphics of strength of the ternary blended mortars were also constructed and could be used to aid the understanding and the proportioning of the blended system.

CALL: Advantages and Limitations
CALL: Advantages and Limitations

Presently the application of computer technologies for pedagogical purposes have been spectacularly realised across a variety of disciplines. In terms of foreign language teaching and learning; researchers educators and teachers are aware of the increasingly prominent role of computer-assisted language learning (CALL). The article therefore manifests interesting research findings and opinions concerning computer usage in the sphere of language education. In the first section the emphasis is put on history and new trends of CALL usage. Then computer and language learning and teaching are discussed through contrastive points of view based on a literature study of researchers and educators involved in language pedagogy. Instead of reviewing extensive advantages of CALL for both teachers and learners limitations are also discussed particularly for the teachers to gain a critical insight as to how computer technologies may affect language learners and classrooms. Finally suggestions and recommendations for integrating CALL into language classroom are provided in order to maximise the exploitation of computer technologies to its full potential.

Contamination in Hydraulic Oil
Contamination in Hydraulic Oil

Hydraulic machines were used in both medium and large scale From industries studying problems of hydraulic systems around 70-80 percentage of the machine expiration was due to the deterioration of hydraulic oil from contamination so the best way to maintain the hydraulic machine was to take care of hydraulic oil to have the purity level and other properties suitable for the components in those machines. This article described the duty of hydraulic oil types of contamination sources of contamination the standard for measuring the purity level of oil equipments used to measure and analyze the contamination in hydraulic oil recommended purity levels the effects from the contamination in hydraulic oil to machine and methods to protect and to eliminate the contamination in hydraulic oil. All of these were useful as the guidelines to maintain the hydraulic machines to work in high efficiency and more long life time.

Researches for New Entrepreneur Creation : Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon - University Business Incubators

Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon has gained support from the Commission on Higher Education to set up a business incubators unit called Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon - University Business Incubators or RMUTP-UBI. The agency has a principal missihon in creating new potential entrepreneurs by utilizing results of research works inventions innovations and technology of the university. The agency๛s main aim is to get income for oneself for the university and for the country as a whole; as well as to provide information service and consultation to users both inside and outside the university. In 2007 the RMUTP-UBI had incubated 10 entrepreneurs. Among these 2 were start-up companies 3 were incubatees and 5 were pre-incubatees. It also conducted public relations visiting tours trainings setting up activity groups of students and entrepreneurs and providing academic services to meet the goal of the project.

Benefit, Cost and Break Even Point Analysis of Biodiesel Production from Palm Fatty Acid
Benefit, Cost and Break Even Point Analysis of Biodiesel Production from Palm Fatty Acid

The research analyzes benefit cost and break even point including sensitivity of making biodiesel production factory from palm fatty acid. Biodiesel production system of Thailand Institute of Scientific and Technological Research (TISTR) is used for this study. It is found the present net value has been a deficit of 27024966 baht. The sensitivity of the project has been analyzed by increasing selling price of biodiesel of 5% and 7.5% but reducing material price of 10% and 20%. It is found the present net value still has been deficient. The project will payback at 5th 8th and 10th year be with selling price of biodiesel. is about 31.71 baht per litre. Therefore the cost of palm fatty acid should lower than 2.89 3.05 and 3.82 baht per kilogram. If selling price of biodiesel about 33.30 baht per litre the cost of palm fatty acid should be lower than 4.65 4.82 and 5.58 baht per kilogram. respectively.
