Kansei engineering: product development methodology
Kansei engineering or effective engineering is an important product development methodology in which users’ or customers’ feelings and demands on the product are translated into important parameters for product design. On the other hand effective engineering is an application of users’ opinion mood and feelings in product design which seems to guarantee that the product will meet the demand of customers. This idea was first developed in early 1970s in Japan. Now it is widely used in both Asian countries such as Japan Korea Taiwan and European countries such as Sweden Spain and France. It is widely used in various fields like applied science and psychological science. This paper discusses the application of Kansei engineering in various daily-used products in both Japanese and Western lifestyles. The perspectives presented in this article are based on the authors’ engineering knowledge.
Knowledge and management of software requirements
In software engineering requirements from customers users and stakeholder are initial information for software development process. The requirements elicited and gained are defined classified refined and stored systematically according to needs management principles. Therefore the requirements would be correct and ready to be used in the next step of development process. This process is called Software Requirements Engineering. If the gained software requirements are incorrect lack quality or are managed unsystematically they could lead to project failure and low-quality software product which cannot meet the needs of users and stakeholders. For these reasons this article proposed an overview of software requirements and an approach for software requirements management level of software requirements quality of software requirements and understanding of quality aspect common problems of requirements elicitation and awareness of impact and damage due to incorrect or low quality requirements. Success factors of software requirements management and 1-10-100 rules are also discussed. Finally the article addresses roles and goals of software requirements management team.
An application of Bayesian Models for risk of withdrawal from calculus 2 for engineers of students at Faculty of Engineering, Rajamangala University of Technology Pra Nakorn, North Bangkok Campus
The objectives of this research are: to study the characteristics of students in the Faculty of Engineering at Rajamangala University of Technology Pra Nakorn North Bangkok Campus that influence to the risk of withdrawal from Calculus 2 for Engineers; to predict the risk of withdrawal from Calculus 2 for Engineers; and to use the results of the study for planning and solving the problems of withdrawal from Calculus 2 for Engineers. The sample is 226 students in the Faculty of Engineering at Rajamangala University of Technology who enrolled the Calculus 2 for engineers in the second semester of the academic year 2009. The data are from the questionnaire. The factors considered are grad point average the number of enrollments for the Calculus 1 for engineers Calculus 1 for Engineers grade the number of courses that emphasize on calculation that were enrolled in the second semester of the academic year 2009 the sacrifices of students for the Calculus 2 for Engineers course and the need to withdraw from Calculus 2 for Engineers course before other courses. The logistic regression model in which the parameters are estimated by using Bayesian methods is used for analyzing the data. The study shows that the factors that influence to the risk of withdrawal from the Calculus 2 for Engineers are grade point average Calculus 1 for Engineers grade the number of courses that emphasize on calculation that were enrolled in the second semester of the academic year 2009 and the sacrifices of students for the Calculus 2 for Engineers and the need to withdraw from Calculus 2 for Engineers before other courses. The factor that does not influence to the risk of withdrawal from the Calculus 2 for Engineers is the number of enrollments for the Calculus 1 for Engineers.
Bachelor of Engineer Faculty Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon with Life Long Education Career
Managing the bachelor educational level of Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon is a mission goal to strengthen on science and technology and capable to recruit form the industrial markets Eventually the applied technologies grow up with the higher managing administration. The researchers stress on human resource developments to make the progress of professional practices which made us interested into find-out the life long studying on working period of the graduated students from faculty of engineering The research objectives are as follows : 1. The alumnis requirements to change and/or to make more than one of the educational certification. 2. Defined the pathways of the higher qualitative educational aims. 3. To study the relationship between the educational framework and the life long studying on working period of the participants around Bangkok city suburb and urban of 300 persons. The results we found that among the requirement to change their certification and to improve their knowledge on professional to require more of the subjects on industrial management field Human relation and the advanced technology subjects on a top of requests. The most requirements from the alumni want to change the certifications to Mechanical engineering to require Mechanical mechanics I Air-conditioning. The highest requirement from the alumni want to change the certifications to Computer engineering field to require the subjects on Data communication Computer network and practice. The more requirements from the alumni want to change the certifications to Electronics and Telecommunication field to require the subjects on Electronic analysis Microware engineering and practice. The highest requirements from the alumni want to change the certifications to Industrial engineering field to require the subjects on Engineering management Maintenance engineering and Production and planning. On remarks among requirements to further study from all participants they want to study on higher degree of education 131 persons or 43.7 percentages of population to improve their performance 93 persons or 31.0 percentages and want to get more benefit from further studies is 76 persons or 25.3 percentages. As the results to collaborate with National education act of Thailand and economics growth-up
