Phytotoxicity assessment of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons Co-Contamination in Soil during Economic Legume Seedling Growth
This research studied combined toxicities of 4 generally found Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) - anthracene fluorene fluoranthene and phenanthrene – during growth of 3 legume seedlings - cow pea mungbean and longbean - planted in varied combination of PAH contaminant in soil. Results showed that mungbean growth was more sensitive to PAH co-contaminated soil than cow pea and longbean. Co-contamination of all 4 PAHs was more toxic to legume than each pair of PAHs. Shoot length and fresh weight of legume seedling were more sensitive to co-contamination of all 4 PAHs than root length. Dry weight of legume seedling was the least sensitive to co-contamination of all PAHs.
Physical characteristics and acceptance of chocolate mousse produced from commercial pasteurized milks contained different fat content
Chemical composition of commercial pasteurized milks contained different fat content (full-fat; FF low-fat; LF and non-fat; NF) was studied. NF contained the lowest fat content (0.12%) with the highest protein content (3.20%). NF exhibited the highest foaming ability and stability. The chemical compositions physical and sensorial properties of chocolate mousse produced from FF LF or NF were also investigated. M-NF had the lowest in fat content resulting in energy reduction when compared with M-FF and M-LF. M-NF also showed the highest firmness and adhesiveness (p<0.05). This was probably due to different chemical composition of pasteurized milk used. For color measurement M-FF showed the highest L* value. However all chocolate mousse samples had no difference likeness score for texture taste and flavor (p>0.05). From the results commercial pasteurized non-fat milk could be not only used for chocolate mousse production without effect on textural and sensorial properties but the energy from fat was also reduced.
Research performance reporting of Rajamangala University of Technology Phra nakhon during 2008–2011
The objective of this research was to survey research data of Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakho n that was 1) published 2) cited and 3) published with regard to the collaboration of its researchers with those of other universities in both national and international journals during the years 2008-2011. Such related data was collected from journals that appeared in 1) the database of Thailand Journal Citation Index Centre (TCI) 2) Web of Science database (WoS) and 3) RMUTP Research Journal. Analyses applied included social statistics particularly descriptive statistics which were frequency percentage and weighted score from six indicators. From the survey it was found that there were 559 lecturers and researchers in Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon. 67 out of 559 (12 per cent of the total) had research work published. The most important findings are as follows: 1. During four years (2008-2011) the university had 80 published research articles. 96.25 percent of the total were published nationally and 3.75 percent internationally. The total weight is 52.88 and the weighted score is 9.46. 2. There was only one article that was cited in a national journal in the year 2010 representing 1.25 percent of the total. The total weight is 1.00 and the weighted score is 0.18. 3. There were 18 articles or 22.50 percent of the total that were produced under the collaboration with researchers from other universities. The total weight is 23.00 and the weighted score is 4.11
Improvement of learning efficiency of physics I for engineers course by real-time Simulating graphical animations
The main problems of learning skills of a physics I for engineer’s course due to the lack of standard computer assisted instruction multimedia and its abstract nature therein were improved and repelled by using the invented teaching animation modules. Applying the established e-learning multimedia modules to the registered students from many faculties of the Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakorn via the learning management system it found that the improvement recipes have appropriate to increase both the learning skills and their highly attitude to this subject. The improved students by the invented media can effectively apply the contents to the higher levels study of concerning subjects.
Heavy metal adsorption of waste waters from chemical laboratory using firebrick. Case study : Faculty of Science and Technology, Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon
The purpose of this research is to study the heavy metal removal from wastewater from laboratory by using adsorption process with firebricks. Waste water was collected among three courses of laboratory such as analytical chemistry principle chemistry and chemistry for engineers. The optimized absorption efficiencies of multi-elements with stirring time volume ratio and temperature were 2 hours 10 g/100 mL and room temperature respectively. It was found that absorption efficiencies of lead (Pb) copper (Cu) zinc (Zn) chromium (Cr) were 65.1 54.8 63.4% and ND respectively.
