Study on effectiveness of aquatic plants for wastewater treatment
The objective of this research was to compare the effectiveness of water hyacinth and cootail for wastewater treatment by taking water sample from Klong Bangkhen-mai near King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok. The results showed that there was no diifference on water temperature changes in tanks between two plants. pH of water in coontail tanks was between pH 8.69 to pH 8.91 and pH of water in water hyacinth tanks was slightly increasing between pH 7.71 to pH 8.26. The more amount of coontail added the higher DO would be between 9.18 mg/L to 10.02 mg/L. Moreover COD of water was decreasing according to the amount of cootail addition and more effective than that in water hyacinth tank especially in 150 grams coontail tanks but TS in water hyacinth tanks was much more decreasing than that in coontail tanks. TS was between 21.73 mg/L to 25.91 mg/L. COD was between 45.30 mg/L to 48.34 mg/L.

The objectives of this study were to investigate the three basic tuiles recipes and to study the content of four types of wolffia dry in tuiles at 0% 2% 4% and6% of total ingredient weight. By planning randomized complete block design(RCBD) and evaluating sensory quality in appearance color odor taste texture (crispy) and overall preference with the use of testing methods for 9- Point Hedonic Scale. The study the basic formula for tuiles by allowing 40 tasters and the study this tuiles supplementaly with wolffia dry by allowing 80 testers to be undergraduates in food and nutrition Faculty of Home Economics Tecnology Rajamangkala University of Tecnology Phranakhon. Take average data(Mean) analyze variance (Analysis of Variance ANOVA) and compare differances mean values (Duncan’s New Multiple Test DMRT) The results of the 3 basic formulas of tuiles namely found that the tasting person accepted the formula 1 in appearance color taste texture (crispy) and overall preference. Average 8.02 7.95 8.08 7.93 and 8.13 respectively at the level medium to high level and the tasting person accepted the formula 3 in odor preference average of 7.70 at the level medium. When analyzed Variance and comparison of differences found that appearance color odor taste texture (crispy) and overall preference there are significant differences at the level of 0.05. The results of the study of the amount of tuiles supplementaly with wolffian dry in 4 formula found that the tasting person accepted the formula supplementaly 2% in color odor texture ( crispy) and overall preference average of 8. 15 7. 79 8. 28 and 8. 05 respectively at the level medium to high level and tasting person accepted the replace 0% in appearance and taste preference average of 8. 18 and 7. 88 at the level medium to high level. When analyzed variance and comparison of statistical differences found that appearance color odor taste texture ( crispy) and overall preference there are significant difference at the level of 0.05.

Podostemaceae a family of aquatic flowering plant restricted to river rapids and waterfalls are widely reported to be the high incidence of endemism and in need for conservation. The present study analyses endemism and conservation status of the Podostemaceae in northeastern floristic region Thailand using past and current taxonomic records personal field collections geographic ranges IUCN assessment and a combination of river number in which a species occurs. The plants grown in one river and two rivers are considered as narrow endemic species. Among the six genera and 22 species recognized two genera are endemic eighteen species are endemic to Thailand eleven species of the 18 are narrowly distributed and confined in northeastern floristic region and the other 4 species are not endemic. Considering the conservation status two species are classified as Critically Endangered distributed in a single river ten species as Vulnerable distributed in 1-2 rivers six species as Near Threatened two species as Least Concern and two species as Data Deficient. Loei province is the most species-rich area in Thailand with 12 species five of them are restricted in Loei.
