This research studies the potential for using waste ash from industrial and agricultural by–products as a geopolymer material. This paper presents a study of the resistance to chloride penetration and resistance to sulfuric acid of geopolymer mortar containing ground rice husk ash (RA) and ground bagasse ash (BA). Geopolymer mortars with constant liquid to ash ratio and similar flow were used for the tests. Compressive strength porosity chloride penetration test Rapid migration test of chloride depth chloride ion diffusion coefficient immersion test of chloride depth and weight loss with impressed sulfuric acid were investigated. Test results show that the workable flow of geopolymer mortar was in the range of 110–115% and was dependent on the ratio by mass of sodium silicate to NaOH and the concentration of NaOH. Extra water was used to improve the workabililty. In case of rice husk ash geopolymer mortar the geopolymer mortars with high strengths were obtained with concentration of NaOH of 15M with the sodium silicate to NaOH ratio by weight of 2.5. However the bagasee ash geopolymer mortars with high strengths were obtained with concentration of NaOH of 10M with the sodium silicate to NaOH ratio by weight of 2.5. The use of rice husk ash and bagasse ash produces geopolymer mixes with good strength and resistance to acid and chloride penetration. The resistance to acid and chloride penetration is higher with an increase in the sodium silicate to NaOH ratio by weight of 2.5.

การวิจัยด้านคอนกรีตพรุนที่เป็นมิตรกับสิ่งแวดล้อม

This research presents a study of the compressive strength flexural strength coefficient of permeability and superplasticizer requriment of Porous Concrete containing fine fly. Portland cement (CT) is partially replaced with pozzolans 0 20 30 and 40% by weight of the cementitious materials. The results show that the high compressive strength flexural strength and low total void ratio of Porous Concrete improves substantially with partial replacement of Portland cement with fly ash. Porous Concrete mix cement containing 20 and 30% of fly ash can be used to make cementitious materials. In addition the use of fly ash produces Porous Concrete mix with good compressive strength flexural strength total void ratio and coefficient of permeability.

Properties of footpaths slab agasse Ash Concrete
Properties of footpaths slab agasse Ash Concrete

This research was aimed to studying the effect of bagasse ash on the properties of footpaths concrete slabs. Using bagasse ash a waste from the manufacture of ethanol instead of the OPC type I 10 20 30 40 and 50 percent by weight. Test results revealed that the compressive strength of concrete bagasse ash mixtures was less than the plain OPC type I concrete And decreased by the content of the bagasse ash. The flexure strength of the footpaths concrete slabs was laid in the same direction. Comparison flexure strength of footpaths concrete slabs on the standard (TIS 378-2531) found that can used 40% replacement of bagasse ash replacing in cement. For the percentage of water absorption of footpaths concrete slabs in bagasse ash concrete mixtures were higher than the plain OPC type I concrete mixture and every mixture is not exceeding standard. It was also found that the replacing cement with bagasse ash content increased the cost of footpaths concrete slabs were lower down. When replacing cement with bagasse ash in 40% cheaper than the cost of plain cement were up to 31% and according to the standard
