This research was aimed to study the compressive strength chloride binding capacity and chloride diffusion coefficient of concrete replaced by ground bottom ash (GBA) and limestone powder in ordinary Portland cement (OPC). The water to binder ratios were 0.55. The results showed that the compressive strength of concrete with GBA was lesser than that of OPC concrete at 28 days. Also the compressive strength of concrete with limestone powder was close to that of OPC concrete and compressive strength could develop of concrete with GBA 20% and 30% higher than that of OPC concrete at 56 days. Moreover the total chloride of the concrete containing GBA and limestone powder was less than that of OPC concrete. The chloride penetration of the concrete containing GBA and limestone powder was less than that of OPC concrete. The chloride binding capacity of the concrete made with ground bottom ash and limestone powder were higher than that of OPC concrete. Finally the chloride diffusion coefficient of the concrete containing GBA and limestone powder was less than that of OPC concrete.
การพัฒนาเถ้าหนักเป็นวัสดุมวลรวมในงานคอนกรีต
This research presents a study of the compressive strength chloride penetration and resistance to corrosion of concrete containing bottom ash. Fine and coarse aggregate is partially replaced with bottom ash 25 50 75 and 100% by weight of the aggregate. The results show that the compressive strength and low chloride penetration of concrete improves substantially with partial replacement of aggregate with bottom ash. Concrete mix cement containing 25 and 50% of bottom ash can be used to make coarse aggregate. In addition Concrete mix cement containing 100% of bottom ash can be used to make fine aggregate. The use of bottom ash produces concrete mix with good compressive strength and resistance to chloride and corrosion.
Compressive strength determination of bottom ash mixed with dust stone and portland cement
This research was to determine the appropriated mixing ratio of bottom ash and admixture (dust rock and Portland cement type 1) for improving the compressive strength. Bottom ash was used instead of soil and the quantities of admixture were 0 2 4 6 8 and 10% by dry weight of bottom ash. The specimens were cured for 7 14 28 and 90 days. Results of compressive strength test show that the admixture of 8% was the best mixing ratio. The increasing primary strength is developed from hydration reaction and the increasing secondary strength at 90 days is developed from pozzolanic reaction. Moreover the compressive strength of this specimen is close to the compressive strength of laterite
Effect of bottom ash as fine aggregate on strength of concrete
This research was aimed to study the effect of bottom ash (BA) as fine aggregate in fly ash concrete and cement-only concrete on strength of water-cured and uncured concrete. The water to binder ratios were 0.35 and 0.55 to represent high strength and normal strength concrete respectively. The weight percentages of replacement of cement by fly ash were 0 and 30%. The replacement ratios of bottom ash as fine aggregate were 0 10 and 30% by volume of fine aggregate. The results indicated that the slump and setting time of concrete increased with the increase of bottom ash content. In contrast the compressive and tensile strength decreased with the increase of bottom ash content. From the curing sensitivity index it was showed that the fly ash concrete required longer curing period than cement-only concrete. In case of high strength concrete the use of bottom ash in fly ash concrete can reduce curing sensitivity of concrete
นวัตกรรมการใช้เถ้าหนักในคอนกรีตที่เป็นมิตรกับสิ่งแวดล้อม
This research presents a study of the resistance to carbonation compressive strength and porosity of concrete containing ground bottom ash. Three different of bottom ash finenesses viz. coarse bottom ash (GBA-1) ground medium bottom ash (GBA-2) and ground fine bottom ash (GBA-3) were used for the study. Portland cement (CT) is partially replaced with ground bottom ash at 0-40% by weight of the bottom ash. The water to binder ratio was kept constant at 0.5. Compressive strength porosity and resistant to carbonation of concrete were investigated. Fine bottom ash has a high potential to be used as a good cementitious material. The results show that the compressive strength and low porosity of concrete improves substantially with partial replacement of Portland cement with fine bottom ash. Concrete mix cement containing 10-20% of fine bottom ash can be used to make cementitious materials. The use of finer bottom ash produces concrete mix with good strength and resistance to carbonation.
