This research is to study the approach for producing the hard materials part by using tungsten carbide powder. The tungsten carbide powder derived from Tungsten scraps recycle processes which are Insert tools scraps the waste of metal removal process or derived from usage of machining on machine tools which are the production of metal powder by recovering cemented carbide to tungsten carbide powder and bring it to recycle. The first experiment of this research starts with the production of pure tungsten carbide powder in order to produce the hard metal part how to possibly produce the durable part or hard materials. Preparing tungsten carbide powder which pulverized and mixed with Cobalt co-binder less than 17% so that molding with the pressure 300 Mpa and sintering at 1430 degree Celsius to the cemented carbide part in Insert tools type rectangle SNMG standard 120408 for turning. The result is found that the Insert tools have hardness about 1385 HV and density 13.45 g/cm3 and then they are tested to machine specimens in AISI 1045 type. The developed Insert tools can be machining metal removal them as well as the imported Insert tools. It is concluded that the production of Insert tools by recycling of tungsten carbide is qualified as the imported Insert tools. In addition it is the new developed research in Thailand to be the approach for domestic cutting tools product instead of the imported cutting tools.

This study is meant to help develops better facilities for Tungsten Carbide powder production process. The 10 kg-capacity machine used was able to produce 85 -95.49 percent purity Tungsten carbide powder. When measured most of the particle sizes and distribution between 0.03-350.00 !lm. which are considered large sized. More than that those tungsten carbide particles are contaminated by other kinds of metal especially Cobalt binder. We have tried to improve the Tungsten Carbide manufacturing processes by combining more steps including ball milling drying and screening. After 24-hours ball milling process the result showed that we were able to produce smaller Tungsten Carbide paliicles sizing from 0.025 to 30.00 ~lm. The obtained particles are also rounder and with 99.50 percent purity. They are also easier to grade. The Tungsten Carbide manufacturing technology yet needs a further development to eventually produce the desired hard material.

Development of Process for Recovery Metal Carbide Powder from Cemented Tungsten Carbide Scraps
Development of Process for Recovery Metal Carbide Powder from Cemented Tungsten Carbide Scraps

The recycling of materials is the recovered process and the important approach for sustainable development. This research is to study recycling tungsten carbides from cemented carbide scraps by extracting the dissolved of binder phase and to study the un-dissolved substrate which stayed condition and size in WC particles. The experiment of this research starts in laboratory with electrolysis is found that the appropriate operating potential is 0.20-1.40 volts at 30-80 oc treated in 1N-7N HCl concentrations aqueous solution as well as the movement of solution and specimens had an effect on capacity of dissolution. Additionally these factors are affected to purity and passivation of WC particles. According to the above experiment it leads to design and create the semi-automatic cemented dissolution machine with electrolysis. This machine can contain the scraps up to 2.5 kilograms in rev 0-25 rpm (revolutions per minute) at electric current 0-50 ampere in electric voltage 0-15 volts. Its flowing process can be 15 lpm (litre per minute) and minute) and temperature is up to 90 oc. Furthermore there are the relative WC power invention processes included residues washing leaching ball milling drying screening and quality examination. The result of developed machine is capacity of tungsten carbide production is in the range 16-50 gram/hour the obtained powder is 97.49% of tungsten carbide (WC powder) which contained a few amount of cobalt. However the dissolution of cemented carbides with this machine can be selected the optimized factors to produce tungsten carbide (WC) to purify more than 99% ball milled them in the most suitable size and particle sized distribution between 0.30-20.00 μm. Afterwards combining cobalt 15% (WC-15%Co) and producing to cemented carbides insert tools rectangle as SNMG standard 120408 it appears that insert tools has a hardness not less than 1430 HV density not less than 14.10 g/cm³. In the other hands the production of tungsten carbides with advanced technology of dissolution machine and manufacturing machine to produce purely tungsten carbides powder has been required an investment charge of new research and development more than 9481888 baht.

Product design and development of the cutting tools complete set
Product design and development of the cutting tools complete set

This research is to study the cutting tools product in reverse engineering for turning milling and drilling included Tool holder Arbor and Insert tool. It is sampled the imported cutting tools from three areas worldwide composed with Sweden United State of America and Japan. The study emphasis in Arbor 136 mm. (6 tooth) Arbor 63 mm. (4 tooth) the changeable Insert tool typeTool bolder 20 mm. and Tool holder for turning. The result is found that Tool holder materials has the mixture of 0.387-0.437 %C hardness is 39.36-53 HRC which was full hardening. The price of Arbor (6 tooth) surveyed from four brands maximum is 22350 Baht and 2.41 times of price differentiation. The price of Arbor (4 tooth) surveyed from two brands maximum is 19000 Baht and 0.1-0.5 times of price differentiation. The price of Tool holder surveyed from three brands maximum is 14300 Baht and 0.15-0.55 times of price differentiation. And the price of Tool Holder for turning surveyed from four brands maximum is 1900 Baht and 0.5-1 times of price differentiation. The provider set up Tool holder and Insert tools will not be compatible together for marketing strategy. There are not much key player providers so there is no strong competition. The provider forces to distribute a set of 10 Insert tools and the most of Tool holder is Hardening and quenching not less than 39 HRC. The metal removal might be necessary use high technology and precision CNC Milling Machine. Therefore the study will lead to design and produce the prototype of cutting tools complete set which is compatible with Insert tools in all processes for turning milling and drilling. This cutting tools complete set differentiates from others because it helps to reduce costs reduce times and work comfortable. The development of compatible cutting tools complete set is the approach to reduce costs and times of work decrease maintenance costs and it will be the foundation to development of multi-function cutting tools complete set in place of the imported cutting tools.

Recycling of tools Scrap
Recycling of tools Scrap

This research is to study the recycle process of hard materials high hardness type and cemented carbide produced by press forming and sintering process included cemented carbide mixed with tungsten carbide cobalt silicon titanium and others. The research aims to recovery tungsten to use it again. It starts in cleaning and ball milling materials for resizing from length 12-25 mm. width 10-15 mm and thickness 2.5-8.0 mm. then disintegrated with the electric-chemical process filtering metal powder cleaning and drying. The result of dissolved materials with electricchemical process in 85% condensed HCl 6-24 volts and 3-10 amperes. The solution heats up 180 degree Celsius is found that material will be 550 11m of W03 the same as usage of Phosphoric Solution. The result of the study in dissolved materials by using the conductor of electricity is found that usage of cobalt is the best to disintegrate tungsten carbide better than tungsten carbide and stainless steel 10-15%. The result of this research is found that the best practice of tungsten carbide recovery is dissolved materials with electric-chemical process in not over 7N condensed HCl 6.00 volts and 3.00 amperes. The metal powder will be almost 100% pure tungsten carbide and particle sized distribution is 34-360 11m. After ball milling for 24 hours particle sized distribution is less than 60 11m compared with the imported metal powder. It is concluded that the recycle of cemented carbide into tungsten carbide powder qualified for sintering work and produced to the durable hard materials. It ensures that this research is useful for the related industry and the approach for production of tungsten carbide which was instead of the imported metal powder.
