The Development of Industrial Teachers of Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhonûs Image Promotion Model
The objectives of this research were to study present and future desirable characteristics of industrial teachers. And to devolop a role model of desirable characteristics of industrial teachers who graduate from RMUTP. The sample were administrators from vocational schools vocational students and vocational student possessors. Multi-stage randomized population is categorized into three groups defining size from table of Krejcie and Morgan. The total number of population is 576. The instrument was a questionnaire for each sample. All data were analyzed to determine statistical results and presented in tubular form. A focus group meeting of 15 lectures from the Faculty of Industrial Education was organized. The study result showed that most sample from those three groups (administrators from vocational schools vocational students and Vocational student possessors) highly agreed in three aspects namely personality ethics and morality and Professional skill aspects. The focus group committee suggested improving the curriculum and also the activities whic were both curriculum activities and teaching activities of lecturers.
Technology Transfer to Community for Existing Career Development and New Career Creation
This project has three main purposes: to provide training courses for producing and packaging of food textile craft and handicraft community products; to conduct a workshop for initial quality evaluation of community products and their packages; and to encourage the community to develop its products according to Thai Community Product Standard. The methodology of the project included assessing need for technology transfer; preparing the project; appointing the committee; recruiting trainees; inviting speakers; preparing instructors documents place and facilities; conducting the training course; and following up project achievement. Results from the 20 training courses with 204 target trainees revealed satisfaction in training at the level of 83.20%. About 46.15% of the trainees were ready for the community product standard guarantee and 33.17% were able to create new careers.
The design and development of young rice planting machine for use in the North Eastern part of Thailand
This research aims to investigate the efficiency and quality of young rice planting machine which is suitable for the North Eastern part of Thailand. The investigation applies the notions of planting young rice manually by farmers into the design of a battery-driven young rice planting machine. The researcher started with the study of transplanting methods of agriculturists in the North Eastern part and the design principles of young rice planting machine. Next the components were calculated and engineering design was drawn. Then the machine was tested in terms of its efficiency and quality. The data were analyzed in terms of means. The results show that the efficiency of the machine regarding planting performance is 90 % the appearance of the machine functions applications engineering and safety achieve the average point of 3.70 which is considered satisfactory.
Development of Fabric Products and Technology Transfer to Lopburi Communities
The objectives of this project were to develop household items using cotton and silk fabrics weaved from local communities in Lopburi province and to transfer the developed technique to those communities in order to increase their incomes and also create the new career. There were 60 participants who were trained for two training courses. After training the participants’ satisfaction on the curriculums and training methods were evaluated by a mean of questionnaire. Then the average values were determined and used to represent the results. The results were concluded that the objectives of the curriculums as well as their structures were mostly suitable in every aspect. The satisfaction on activities during the training training equipment (materials and books) and place were rated in the “high level” while the satisfaction on the instructors was rated in the “highest level”.
Development of Lightweight Concrete Masonry Units with Oil Palm Ash
The objective of this research was to find an appropriate mixing ratio of concrete with oil palm to produce concrete masonry units with properties equivalent or better than other conventional masonry materials. By trying out method the best proportion of Portland cement: sand: oil palm ash was found at 1:1:2 by weight. The ratio yielded a lightweight concrete with an average density of 766 kg/m3 and average compressive strength of approximately 90 kg/ cm2 which is higher than the minimum requirement of Thai Industrial Standards (TIS) 58- 2533 (1990) of 75 kg/cm2. Water absorption of this proportion was at an acceptable standard level of 20% by weight. From cost analysis the cost of a wall made with the obtained masonry units was about 100 baht per square meter cheaper than lightweight masonry units sold in the market. However the heat conductivity (K) was similar (0.194 W/mk). Moreover the manufacturing process of these masonry units is simple and can be run as a small local enterprise.
