Measurement and mapping of noise level for Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon North Phra Nakhon Campus
Measurement and mapping of noise level for Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon North Phra Nakhon Campus

The purpose of this research was characterized the noises at North Phra Nakhon campus Rajamangala University of Technology Phra NakhonThailand. The instrument of this study was instrument noises. Volume of noise levels were measured in terms of 15 hr and equivalent sound level (Leq 9 hr). 10 samples of noise levels were collected at Rajamangala University Technology Phra Nakhon from 10 stations. The results shown that the average noises volume of 9 hours were in range of 63.10 to 71.20 dBA by measuring station with highest mean of monitoring Station Building Civil Engineering in the area of Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering were found 67.68 and 67.39 dBA respectively. The results of this study indicated that volume of noises in Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon were a little bit more than the standard of Pollution Control Department of Thailand and weren’t affected to teaching and learning in North Phra Nakhon campus.

Process and form of reed mat for development of thai contemporary art furniture design
Process and form of reed mat for development of thai contemporary art furniture design

The study of Reed mat making process and develop the design into a Thai contemporary furniture style. This research is an experimental type and the research designs various functioned furniture. The inspiration come the shape of petal of lotus blossom. The lotus blossom petal’s shape has been one of a characteristic of Thai painting for a longtime. Artists from the old day got this inspiration from nature and the curve and the soft outline of pattern represents the warmth and kindness of Thai people. Therefore the soft outline is the beginning of this design which comes in 3 types. Each type has its own functions but share a lotus blossom petal as an inspiration. First type is the couch second is the arm chair and last is an end table. From a questionnaire about the function of the reed mat the statistic shows the average number on the couch is 4.39 and that is good. The couch is the best choice to be developed into reed mat material furniture due to the strongest structure and heavy load capability. The reed mat already is a mat to lie on; just shaping it into a curve according to Ergonomics theory and it will become a very comfortable couch. This is one way to improve the function in Thai contemporary furniture. Because of the satisfaction average number is at 4.57 which are the highest score; the couch is the best candidate to be applied into more contemporary furniture with Thai art character

Natural ventilation design guidelines for green chemistry laboratories
Natural ventilation design guidelines for green chemistry laboratories

This study focuses on appropriate opening design of natural ventilation for green chemistry laboratories in Thailand. Even though natural ventilation is an alternative way to save energy from using air conditionings nowadays there is no design guideline to promote natural ventilation for chemistry laboratories in the country. Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) was used to simulate building models with various orientations and opening types. Then a set of simulations was run to test the effect of lay-out designs and opening locations in conjunction with the type of building models such as single-loaded corridor double-loaded corridor and atrium-loaded corridor by comparing ventilation performance with 8 wind directions at the speed of 2 meters per second. Results show that the single-loaded corridor lay-out design and opening arrangement which angled at 180 degree of wind direction and average wind speed of more than 0.5 meter per second was the most suitable comfort for improved natural ventilation in chemistry laboratories. Natural ventilation helps in reducing energy consumption improving quality of indoor environment and responding to the need of users based on standards and principles of green chemistry laboratory design.

The optimal image processing for paddy studies : Variety classification and rice kernel damage inspection

This research report is manipulated that summarized the moment of research project in the subject of “The optimal image processing for paddy studies: Variety classification and rice kernel damage inspection”. This project had been take time in 12 mounts. We focused on rice variety classification and rice kernel damage inspection. We also investigated the apparent friction of rice surface. Results showed that area and size were the quantities that have the potential to classify rice variety and also rice kernel damage inspection. In addition we also found that geometric mean diameter performed characteristic to apparent friction of rice surface in kerosene. These results have the potential to be the basis information in terms of developing instrument for quality control and variety classification of cereal.

Heavy metal adsorption of waste waters from chemical laboratory using firebrick. Case study : Faculty of Science and Technology, Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon
Heavy metal adsorption of waste waters from chemical laboratory using firebrick. Case study : Faculty of Science and Technology, Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon

The purpose of this research is to study the heavy metal removal from wastewater from laboratory by using adsorption process with firebricks. Waste water was collected among three courses of laboratory such as analytical chemistry principle chemistry and chemistry for engineers. The optimized absorption efficiencies of multi-elements with stirring time volume ratio and temperature were 2 hours 10 g/100 mL and room temperature respectively. It was found that absorption efficiencies of lead (Pb) copper (Cu) zinc (Zn) chromium (Cr) were 65.1 54.8 63.4% and ND respectively.
