Dyeing and Colour Fastness Properties of Silk and Cotton Fabrics Dyed with Eucalyptus Bark Extract
This research was concerned with dye extraction from the bark of eucalyptus and application for silk and cotton fabric dyeing. Silk and cotton fabrics were treated with premordanting process before dyeing experiments in order to facilitate dye absorbency of fabrics such as silk dyeing at 90ฐC for 40 minutes and pH 4 cotton dyeing at 60ฐC for 40 minutes and pH no adjustment. The best result was achieved when liquor ratio between fabric and dyed solution as 1:30 was employed. Silk dyed in the solution extracting from the bark of eucalyptus with mordant compound displayed yellow to brown colour except fabric using fesrrous (Fe) mordant exhibiting the shade of dark brown to grey. For cotton fabric the shade of yellow to orange was obtained except fabric using ferrous (Fe) mordant displaying the shade of pale grey to gray. Silk and cotton fabrics treated with pre-mordanted and dyeing process has presented the properties of colour fastness to washing water and perspiration from good to very good level whereas colour fastness to light and rubbing was from fair to good level.
Factors Affecting the studentsû Achievement Research Methodology Subject, Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakorn, Chotiwet Campus
The purpose of this research is to study the factors affecting the students๛ achievement and to create the model of the achievement predictive equation on Research Methodology subject Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon Chotiwet Campus. This research is a correlation research. The population are the third year (4-year-Programme) students of Chotiwet Campus majoring in Food and Nutrition totaling 133. The results of the study revealed that there were two factors affecting the students๛ achievement on Research Methodology as follows : (1) cummulative grade point average and (2) students๛ problem of how to adjust to the study environment. The above-mentioned factors can be formed as model of the Research Methodology achievement predictive equation as follow yˆ = 11.079+3.349 x1 - 1.081 x7
Strength, porosity and corrosion resistance of ternary blend Portland cement, rice husk ash and fly ash mortar
This paper presents a study of the strength porosity and corrosion resistance of mortars made with ternary blends of ordinary Portland cement (OPC) ground rice husk ash (RHA) and classified fly ash (fine fly ash FA). Compressive strength porosity and accelerated corrosion with impressed voltage (ACTIV) were tested. The results show that the use of ternary blend of OPC RHA and FA produces mortars with improved strengths at the low replacement level with RHA and FA and at the later age in comparison to that of OPC mortar. The porosity of mortar containing pozzolan reduces with the low replacement level of up to 20% of pozzolan but increases with the 40% replacement level. The chloride induced corrosion resistance of mortar as measured by ACTIV is however significantly improved with the use of both single pozzolan and the ternary blend OPC RHA and FA. The corrosion resistance of ternary blend mortar is higher than that of mortar containing single pozzolan. The use of ternary blend OPC RHA and FA is very effective in enhancing chloride induced corrosion of mortar.
The Learning Styles of Students of RIT, Chotiwet Campus
The research was to study and compare learning styles of students of the faculty of Home Economics RIT Chotiwet Campus deviding into sex department and level of education. The sample consisted of 249 students in the second semester of academic year 2003. The 5 rating scale questionnaire consisted of 6 learning styles classified by Reichman and Grasha : Independent Dependent Avoidance Collaborative Participant and Competitive consisting of 60 items. The reliability was 0.71. The data were analyzed by using SPSS for window. The statistics used were percentage mean standard deviation t-Test One -Way ANOVA and Tukey HSD. The results were as follows: 1. Most students occupied collaborative and participant learning styles then dependent independent competitive and avoidance respectively. 2. There was only one difference between male and female students learning styles that was avoidance. 3. Students from different majors had 3 different learning styles which were dependent collaborative and competitive. 4. Students who were in different levels of study had 1 different learning style which was collaborative.
Marketing and Competitive Advantages for Handicraft Entrepreneurs in Songkhla
This research aimed to study the marketing of handicrafts from sugar palm fiber and the strategies to enhance compatible marketing and study sugar palm fiber products market and analyze the competition to increase the potential in the handicraft market competition. The methodology used was qualitative research using identified sampling by interviewing the group leaders and the members of local community enterprises who produce handicrafts from sugar palm fiber in four areas in Amphur Sathing-Pha Songkhla Province. The result revealed that there were two kinds of products from sugar palm fiber: weaved and wickerwork and using the products as decorating items to create various style of handicrafts. The marketing of the products composed of selling in festivals made to order and consignment. The main compatible advantages were costing strategies differentiating and Niche or Focus strategy. The palm fiber entrepreneur has high opportunity to succeed due to the increasing potential competition ability. Further more promotion and OTOP products development can make value added to entrepreneurs for sustainability in competition.
