Fluctuation Voltage Control of Wind Turbines via STATCOM
Fluctuation Voltage Control of Wind Turbines via STATCOM

This paper presents distributed STATCOM for controlling voltage in distribution line with wind turbines generations at 48 volts. The connection of wind turbine to distribution systems may affect the voltage quality offered to the consumers. One of the factors contributing to this effect is the rapid variations of the wind turbine output power which cause respective fluctuations in the supply voltage. This paper presents the design control and analysis of a Distributed STATCOM when combined with a wind turbine comprising small variable speed generators in this paper it is shown that the distributed STATCOM controlled via a rotating referent frame: RRF and recursive DFT are simple method to DSP control technique. The result of experiments the STATCOM can improve the transient stability voltage of wind turbine that we have referred the IEEE1159:1995 standard of power quality.

Adaptive Equalization Architecture Using Distributed Arithmetic for Partial Response Channels
Adaptive Equalization Architecture Using Distributed Arithmetic for Partial Response Channels

This paper proposes a design and implementation of transversal adaptive digital filter using LMS (Least Mean Squares) adaptive algorithm. The filter structure is based on Distributed Arithmetic (DA) which is able to calculate the inner product by shifting and accumulating of partial products and storing in look-up table also the desired adaptive digital filter will be multiplierless filter. In addition the hardware implementation uses VHDL (Very high-speed integrated circuit Hardware Description Language) and synthesis using FLEX10K Altera FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) as target technology and uses Leonardo Spectrum and MAX+plusII program for overall development. The results of this design are shown that the speed performance and used area of FPGA. The experimental results are presented to demonstrate the feasibility of the desired adaptive digital filter

The purposes of this research were to study the learning styles affecting learning achievement of students on Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon The sample consisted of 257 the fourth year students of the faculty of Liberal Arts Mass Communication Technology Textile Industry and Fashion Design Home Economics Technology and Architecture and Design in the first semester of 2007 academie year the instrument uesd for collecting data was the 5 rating scales -questionnaire on learning styles. The questionnaires consisted of 6 learning styles classified by Reichman and Grasha : Independent Dependent Avoidance Collaborative Participant and Competitive consisted of 60 items. The reliability was 0.85. The data were analyzed by using the computer program SPSS for window. The statistics analysis includes a -coefficients percentage mean and standard deviation The results were as follows : 1. Most students occupied collaborative and participant learning styles then independent dependent avoidance and competitive respectively. 2. The competitive and collaborative affecting learning achievement were significantly different at P<05. The competitive learning style has the negative affecting towards learning achievement. The Collaborative learning style has the positive affecting towards learning achievement. 3. The equation used for predicting learning achievement is Y = 2.697 -0.118 X6 +0.158 Xs

Performance Analysis of Adsorption Refrigeration System with Water-Thermosyphon Cool Adsorber and Evaporator Enhanced with Near-Ultrasonic Wave
Performance Analysis of Adsorption Refrigeration System with Water-Thermosyphon Cool Adsorber and Evaporator Enhanced with Near-Ultrasonic Wave

Here we present an experimental study of the single-effect adsorption cooling system using activated carbon-methanol working pair. The test unit was comprised of an adsorber a condenser and evaporator in vertical alignment. Heating and cooling of adsorber was mainly done by hot and cold water circulating through the water jacket. The evaporator and condenser was heated or cooled by flows of water through the internal coil. The adsorber was analyzed for its cooling rate when cooling was done by two approaches either cooling water and/or three thermosyphon heat pipes which both methods gave shortest cooling time. The investigated heat source and sink temperatures are; hot water temperature supplied to adsorber (70 80 90 oC) and cooling water temperature supplied to condenser (5 10 15 oC). An ultrasonic wave generator was attached to the bottom end of the evaporator to generate wave frequency varied by 8 10 and 14 kHz during evaporation phase. The ultrasonic wave can obviously reduce the evaporation time of methanol as well as to improve the system performance in terms of COP SCP and VCP. The system performance was considerably comparable to those from literatures. The highest COP and SCP obtained from this system was 0.718 and 248.90 W/kg respectively.

Soil Respiration of Natural Forest, Forest Plantation and Agricutural Incubated Soils
Soil Respiration of Natural Forest, Forest Plantation and Agricutural Incubated Soils

Recently scientists have focused attention on soil as a major source and sink for atmospheric CO2. Three replications of two-depth soils from eleven different ecosystem types from Sakaerat Environmental Research Station (SERS) Sakaerat Silvicultural Research Station (SSRS) and Suranaree University of Technology (SUT) Nakhon Ratchasima were collected during the first week of March 2010. The soils were then incubated at 25°C for three days and measured their respiration rates. The highest soil respiration rate was found in sunflower with 0.823 μmol CO2 g-1 h-1 while the lowest was found in eucalyptus plantation in SUT with 0.005 μmol CO2 g-1 h-1. Additionally between two natural forests at SERS the respiration rate of dry evergreen forest was higher than in dry dipterocarp forest with the value of 0.037 and 0.016 μmol CO2 g-1 h-1 respectively. Whereas the soil respiration rate at SSRS forests was highest in the eucalyptus plantation (0.048 μmol CO2 g-1 h-1) and lowest in acacia plantation (0.027 μmol CO2 g-1 h-1). The overall respiration rate was higher for soils from 0-5 cm than 5-15 cm but not statistically significant difference. Soil water content and pH were positively significant related with soil respiration (p<0.01). Soil carbon however was also positively significant related with soil respiration but in lesser degree (p<0.05). Therefore soil water content and pH should be major driving forces for soil respiration.
